Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The air was silent as Shinzo scanned the arena floor. Its charred surface lay littered with pieces of cloth and fragments of earth and stone that had been thrown up upon the impact of the jutsu that both combatants had used. Patches of incinerated grass still smoked from the impact of more recent fireballs. Such destruction had only taken just over two minutes, yet both of the boys appeared to still be more than able to fight, which in and of itself was quite a feat in comparison to the other fights that had taken place prior to their own. The younger of the two currently fighting paced around, his emerald eyes darting between the remaining few hiding spots. He crouched down in the centre of the field, dragging his fingers along the floor. Burnt fauna turned to ash in his hands, nature wasn’t the boy’s most important concern but the destruction exhibited at the level of student combat blew his mind. In turn it wandered towards contemplation on how much damage experienced ninjas could do, not only to themselves but to the theatre of battle that they would find themselves in. A light sigh escaped his lips as images of carnage filled his mind, some day he would be out there making a difference, stopping rogue ninja from harming the lands, but alas for now he had to focus on staying in this fight.

A moment passed and then out of nowhere the hairs on Shinzo’s neck stood up on end, in what felt like slowed time, he felt the air around him begin to heat up. His legs sprung into action, throwing the shinobi in training up into the air and over the first ball of fire that was sent his way. Another flew just inches away from his small frame. His eyes looked for the source of the attack but to no avail. Within a second he had been hit, fire engulfing his lower back and leaping onto the student tournament shirt that was still tied around his waist. In a flash he untied the t-shirt and threw it to one side. “Oi! Thanks for that! I liked that shirt!” Shinzo hit the floor hard, skidding before stumbling and landing on his hands and knees. ‘This is not happening.’ He thought to himself as the energy within him flared up, his thoughts were interrupted by another ball of flame which hurtled towards him. Chakra coated his forearms as he sprang forward to move from its path only to then push against the fireball, sending it into some bushes not far from himself. A final fireball came which thankfully the boy span out of the way off, his wind chakra helping to guide his movements on the battlefield. He felt the heat of the jutsu move from him, and only then did he allow himself a breath. ‘Spinning, that’s a good trick.’

Normally in situations such as this, a shinobi would have time to analyse the situation in order to decide upon the best outcome. Shinzo had neither the training or the time at this moment to act with a well thought out strategy. ‘I just need to find him, there’s only so much to do while he’s hiding like that.’ “Come out come out wherever you are. Fight me face to face!” For a second Shinzo thought he heard a rustle in some bushes to his left. Without hesitation he span on the spot, weaving hand seals as his position changed. Both palms opened up as the reality warping energy within the Seikon boy extended up to his arms from the pool of his stomach. A second later he clapped them together, sending a broad wave of reality disturbance towards the supposed hiding spot. It ripped through the shrubbery, sending up a cloud of dust as it made an impact on the ground further off in the distance. Nothing happened. Shinzo furrowed his brow as he returned to his defensive posture, he had to be ready for the next attack, it would be headed his way soon that was inevitable.

From withhin his hideout Juko watched as Shinzo was scouting the field, crouching in the middle of the arena and apparently searching the ground for footprints or similar. Not a bad thought, what with all the ash in here, i need to be careful to not leave any tracks behind... He pushed away some more branches to get a better look as he watched the young boy wander around in the arena. Quite clearly Shinzo was not used to this side of the medal, having been the one to hide and dodge his attacks in the battle before.
About time the tables turn eh... Juko whispered to noone in particular as he formed his favorite finger seals. For the first time in the whole battle he had time to properly care for this important task and concentrate on his attack with all of his mind. As he spat out the fiery orbs that would soon rain down on his opponent he had the first two fly almost one after another with the third one coming in from above.
Happily he watched Shinzo dodge the first to fireballs, as expected, before the third one hit him. Smoke came up from what Juko suspected to have been his shirt before and the hidden boy smiled silently.
After dodging all of the attacks Shinzo was clearly frustrated, challenging Juko openly to a "face to face" battle. What a shame, would that you had done that before going into hiding for so long yourself.. i might have accepted your invitation!
Letting go of the branches Juko contemplated his next moves. At the moment he was at a slight advantage due to him being hidden, but as far as he knew Shinzo had so far slammed aside every attack he had made. In that moment he felt something approach and without thinking further the boy threw himself to the side and behind the black stump of a burnt and broken tree. Just in the nick of time as the brush to his side, where he had just sat a moment ago, was obliterated and ripped to shreds.
No, not ripped.. it seems more as if the brush became shreds.. this mustve been the attack he had used before, shit i am glad i wasnt hit by it...

Things were getting out of hand for the hazelnut haired boy, there wasn’t any time to he watched as his tournament t-shirt lay on the incinerated ground almost unrecognisable in comparison to how it looked before the fighting began. The boy’s teeth grinded together out of frustration. ‘I really liked that top, could he have destroyed…’ Shinzo looked down to scan his gear, realising that the majority was charred and frayed. ‘Something else.’ His eyes couldn’t be drawn from the surrounding environment for long, he knew Juko would take any opportunity that presented itself to him. A light wind blew through some of the remaining foliage, causing Shinzo to take a quick few steps backwards to make his way into the centre of the arena. He figured this would be the best spot to have the largest scope of his opponent’s potential hiding places. As his feet finished skimming across the charred surface of the arena floor, the young boy suddenly felt the air grow dryer around him.

A wave of heat washed over his short frame, instinctively Shinzo threw his body to one side. He watched on as a single ball of flame flew past his face in slow motion. The flames danced around the larger mass as it shot onwards towards the other end of the arena. Another came towards him, one that Shinzo had noticed a second earlier. He planted his feet firmly onto the floor, bent his knees and pushed off as quickly as possible. He spread his arms out with back to the ground as he passed over the fire ball. He landed and turned only to be struck on the shoulder by one of the fireballs that had snuck under his radar. The flames licked his face, singeing his right eyebrow and burning his cheek. Shinzo flew into a rage, he could feel his energy growing within him, instinctively it channelled towards his hands. One more fireball came rocketing past the boy but thankfully Shinzo was able to sidestep it. He didn’t want to waste energy to show off any more.

Shinzo caught where the final ball of flame had come from, and hopefully he would act before Juko could move. ‘There you are. Without hesitation Shinzo let out a roar fit for an eight year old and swung his hands forwards. He clapped them together to release yet another wave of distorted reality. It passed through foliage, seeming to be without much force, however as it passed over the materials they seemed to change state before being torn apart on the spot. He watched on as the wave headed towards Juko, making contact with the student. Somehow, he had managed to stop the brunt of the attack but still it would have done some damage.

Shinzo looked down to his hands, the wrappings covering them hung loose in some areas. It was time to end this, no more playing around. His last attack may not have had the desired effect, but he had found Juko. That was all that mattered.

Ash was raining from the bleak branches of the small Bush that Juko was sitting in, making it seem as if the whole world was streaked in black. The young boy was panting rather heavily, while his brain was trying to assemble a plan for his next steps. He felt his chakra draining as he used jutsus after jutsus, mostly with little results to show for, but he was still far from empty. Most of his exhaustion came from his strained nerves and eyes as he tried to keep Shinzo withhin his field of vision while simultainously predicting the boys moves ahead and his own counters to it.
The last of the few leaves that were still hanging on the brush fell down to the ground givng the command for attack. Juko finished forming his handseals and shot out another freshly baked batch of burning balls of fire, this time he had fired two first as decoys, both fairly low to make Shinzo jump up into the air when he dodged them, followed by one that was flying a tad higher, aimed to hit Shinzo in midair and followed by two more to finish him off.
As usual, only one hit, wheres another one only managed to singe the other boys clothing lightly. Shit... couldve sworn he wasnt paying attention this time... Despite nobody ever saying that they had limited time for their fight Juko felt the time passing t hrough his fingers like cold ash. Suddenly he felt a rush of energy coming straight for him. Ah fuck, it was ME who wasnt paying attention! After shooting his last jutsu he had resumed a crouched position, hands and knees on the ground with a black carped on top of himself to hide his blonde hair from view. When the wave of pure disintegration came charging straight at him he pushed both his hands and feet away from the ground, launching himself in the ground, however this time he wasnt fast enough. The glass-like wave, only visible through the displacement of all that otherwise shouldve been obstructed from sight, washed over his right arm and shoulder, leaving him branded and clutching that side in pain.
Shit, if it werent for me being able to create that same energy, this wouldve probably evaporized my whole arm or atleast some of my fingers! Biting his lip to prevent himself from screaming in pain Juko stopped his jump short and rolled into one of the craters that his previous attacks had left.
The fight would have to be decided soon, lest he went out of this tourney with permanend scars...

Shinzo watched on as Juko clutched at his right side, rolling off into one of the smouldering craters that littered the ground. The level of destruction created by the pair of students was a sight to behold, at least for those who had not experienced such a thing before. Indeed the subject would be something to dwell on, but for now all energy had to be put into the fight. The head of the darker haired competitor turned to look up the walls of the arena towards the spectators watching, thankfully he had managed to drown out their screams and shouts after the sudden volume shift earlier. But still, he wondered how many of them were shinobi and how many were just regular citizens who came to watch the event. ‘This world is a harsh one. ‘ He thought solemnly as a sigh escaped his chapped lips. By now Shinzo was missing at least half an eyebrow from that last fiery encounter and really he wasn’t too fond of missing any more. The skin on the right side of his face rested with patches of a harsh purply-red brought on by the extreme heat of his opponent’s jutsu. Really there wouldn’t be too much more of that he would be able to take without long term injury.

Both eyes shut for a moment, a risky move for a shinobi but at this point Shinzo needed to centre his mind lest he lose control of the energy which whirled inside of him. By now, his calming breaths took no longer than two seconds and in a flash he was ready to continue. His green eyes scanned the arena for Juko, thankfully he hadn’t moved in those two seconds, it was time to continue this fight. A decisive blow needed to be made by one of the competitors and Shinzo had a feeling he wasn’t the only one thinking something along this line. But he knew what to do if that came to light.

For a second there was silence, a light wind lifted ash from the ground between the two boys signalling the time to strike. Shinzo pushed off from his position, pushing himself to sprint faster than he had done before, the distance he needed to make wasn’t that large but nevertheless the younger of the pair crossed it in record time. He leapt forwards to slide down the bank of the crater with right foot outstretched. The most tactical thing he could think to do at this point would be to stop Juko from moving as swiftly as he had been. A target (or two) was in sight, Shinzo’s toes making a clean hit on the vital organs as he slid past his opponent. He felt something wrap around his foot, pulling on them as the rest of his body continued to move forwards, the muscles within stretching awkwardly until he felt something tear. The boy let out a pained gasp as the wires dug into his foot, but he continued moving. There was little else to do unless he desired to become an easy target.

Gracefully he pushed off from the far edge of the crater to soar into the air and land a few metres away from his rival. From one look he could tell that his foot wasn’t in the best condition but he could still put some weight on it. Was this all part of Juko’s plan? Was this something to do with his leg obsession? The next thing he knew, a huge ball of flame hurtled towards the boy, it’s size much larger than the previous fireballs he had faced. It was too big to just jump over, but for anyone keeping a close eye on Shinzo they would notice a small smirk creep across his face. He hopped back a few feet as the jutsu raced towards him. It began to engulf his vision and soon it engulfed his entire body. It took a moment for the ball of flame to pass on, it left a path of incineration upon the ground, Shinzo was nowhere to be seen. Something fell to the ground. A smouldering piece of wood lay on the ground where Shinzo had just been a moment earlier. He appeared just a moment later, sprinting towards his opponent. ‘Glad I had that trick up my sleeve.’ He was ready to end this now.

A sharp sound filled his ears as he heard a whistle being blown. The boy skidded to a stop and looked around the field, this couldn’t be another trick surely?

Ash was covering Juko's fingers as he slowly pulled himself into a crouch to look over the border of the crater. Even though the attack that had caused the dent in the ground had hit several minutes ago, Juko could still feel the warmth in the ground, the heat in the burned foliage and wood. Then again, i can also feel heat in my entire side, that stupid attack of his almost killed me... Clutching his side he slowly sunk back into the shadows. Gasping he ripped of come of what was left of his bandage and tried wrapping it around his injured side, but the damage was to big, he only managed to wrap it around some of his hand before he had no more bandage to spare. All but one of his seals were ripped or burned now which lessened his chances even more. I need... to find something to hit him... His hand wandered above the last remaining seal, hovering there for a second before it came down and touched the inked sign. He could feel more of his chakra being siphoned by the seal and sighted. It had proven usefull in the past, so why not now again.
And this time ill get you, definately!
Peering over his shoulder Juko watched as Shinzo seemed to rest again, his eyes closed. Tch... He felt anger bubbling in him, all the more since Shinzo seemed to be fairly fresh still. Its true, i have barely hit him in this fight... that little monkey, so he hadnt shown me all of his speed back then... After having sufficiently charged the seal Juko slowly righted himself again and looked over to the othe rboy. After a few moments they both got into motion, Juko furiously forming seal after seal on his side while Shinzo vanished, clearing the space between them in the moment of a blink.
Just a fragment of a second before the nearly invisible fist of Shinzo couldve hit Juko his trap went off, deflecting the punch enough to turn a possible fight-ending strike into a simple hit towards Jukos shoulder. Still, the hit threw him backwards multiple steps and only by pouring more chakra into his feet he managed to keep standing. Nghnn.....! This time ill get you! You wont escape me! Breathing out he released another fireball, this time however all of the five usual fireballs were combined into a single huge orb, streaming heat into every direction as it travelled towards Shinzo.
For a second all Juko could see was the white inprint of the fiery fireball that had stayed on his eyes before his sight returned t ohim. To his surprise he hadnt hit Shinzo - again. Instead in his place was a burnt piece of wood, marked as a kawarimi target. Really... His brows furrowed as he looked around. He didnt find Shinzo until the same suddenly flashed into sight from behind a cloud of ash. Before he could reach him though, a loud whisting sound interrupted the duo, making both Shinzo and Juko halt for a second and look to the side.
What now?
Seeing the referee Juko slowly fell to one knee. No... no... NO! NO, were not done yet! I am not done yet!
