Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Basic Data</B>
Name:
Shoukyou Tatsuya (樅強竜矢)
Title: Spellbreaker
Rank: Wanderer
Core Ability: Void Adept
Status: Heir, Shoukyou Clan
Chakra Mark: Infinity symbol on right side of lower jaw

Personal Info<B>
Gender:
Male
Eye Colour: Heterochromic; left eye gold, right eye grey
Hair Colour: Red-brown
Height: 6'1" (185 cm)
Weight: 172 lbs (78.02 kg)
Age: 25
Birthday: August 6th
Blood Type: O-
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Sexual Orientation: Aromantic Bisexual

Appearance: Tatsuya is more than slightly vain about his appearance. Unless he has just come out of a fight or is extremely stressed, he always looks just as he wants to. No matter the weather, he tends to wear his beat up brown jacket and no matter the situation, he tends to keep his hair artfully messy. The only weapon he usually keeps visible on him is a sword, but he has at least one extra hidden in each layer of clothing and more in his jacket.

Personality: Tatsuya has a reputation as a shameless flirt, being not that bright, and quite vain and shallow. To most people who know him, he's of the work hard and play hard type, infamous for heading out at night to drink and pick up dates after spending a day of paper pushing. He generally acts as if not a lot bothers him, being easygoing and flirtatious with almost everyone he meets. Even then, he's also known to be a generally nice guy, and will back off anyone who explicitly tells him to. 'Pretty face, no brains,' has been used to describe him before, or 'shameless playboy,' and both seem accurate.

Of course, it's an act. The flirting and drinking gives him a reputation that lets him do basically what he wants, and pretending to be dense disguises the keen mind and sharp intellect. He's not really a nice person, either--in fact, he can be rather ruthless, but no one's likely to see that unless he wants them to (and good luck getting anyone to believe them if they live through it). He still enjoys sleeping around, of course, or he wouldn't do it, but it's far from his only goal in life and he's not nearly so much of a spoiled brat as he makes people think. He is just as snarky as he normally acts, though.

Well. They don't pick idiots as Sennin, do they?

History: The reasoning for why Tatsuya got to become a ninja despite the eldest in his family typically not being allowed to is technically a long one, but the short of is that he made a claim that he was also the secondborn. You see, when he was born he was technically his parents' second child, only the first had been a stillborn. He knew this and was determined to become a ninja, and argued for them to let him. Whether they let him because of said argument or because he was spoiled as a child is up for debate. It turned out not to matter when his parents' next 'child' turned out to be twins anyway.

It was in the academy that he first started pretending he wasn't very smart, seeming to focus only on the classes that involved fighting and combat. Despite being set up in an arranged marriage with Shirogane Misora, a girl near his age, he still ended up furthering his public image as 'fluff for brains' by being a charming flirt as soon as he was old enough to start dating. (The two of them were old enough friends that she knew it was an act, and she still puts up with it because neither of them is in any rush to get married.)

He had no interest in trying out for either specialized branch at any point during his career, and continued to be a shiftless mission-going Genin, Chuunin, and later Jounin until he was appointed to the Sennin position at twenty. Surprised and wary of accepting such a thing, he compensated by making his behaviour even more noticeable and making sure those who dealt with him thought he was appointed more for his powerful family than any actual skills.

Very few people seem able to see past his public persona. Not even being related to him or knowing him for long seems to make people able to figure it out. Which is just as well, as far as he's concerned.

Theme Songs:
-Bad Apple [English Version] - Cristina Vee
-Mowgli's Road - Marina and the Diamonds
-Break the Sky - The Hush Sound

Main Weapon: Polearm with a sickle blade attached, sharpened on both edges. The pole is collapsible with Tatsuya's seals, and usually stored in his jacket.

Re: Shoukyou Tatsuya - Spellbreaker (MB Sennin)

Established Relationships
Note that people who can see through his act and people who are related to him are exempt from flirting.

Shoukyou Akane: Younger sister. Protective. He disapproves of her arranged marriage because he disapproves of such things in general, and would likely give a good hiding to Hoshikata if he hurt her. She's able to see through his front usually. He provisionally approves of her growing closer to Hoshikata due to their arranged engagement.

Shoukyou Akihiko: Younger brother. Protective. He gets annoyed at being teased by him frequently, moreso than he does at Akane. He can typically see through Tatsuya's antics too.

Isaki Hoshikata: Former classmate, friend, colleague. He approves of the heir of the only clan in Mist older than his, and tends to get along with him even though it seems to outsiders as if their friendship is based on needling each other. He accepts that Hoshikata has known him long enough to see through his act, too. Since leaving Mist, he's had reason to become warier of his oldest friend.

Minamoto Taro: Cautious. While Tatsuya hit on him when they first met, he's not entirely sure of the man due to his position and the fact that he didn't reveal his rank when they met. He won't let this influence their interactions though, since this would be revealing too much of his perceptive skills. (Deceased)

Kasumi Masa: Wary. Tatsuya's impression of Masa is as a good ANBU, someone who holds herself at a distance and the type that isn't impressed by his flirting. He's fairly sure he outwitted her and gave her little inclination to look deeper in him, so at the moment he considers her a running dog able to keep weaker dogs in line and not a particularly insightful Sennin. Rather likes her though, particularly since she kissed him on the hand while he was leaving Mist.

Keiatsu: Intrigued. Met him at the Silver Tower Showdown in The Last Stand event. Tatsuya's basic impression of him is as a blade that can be forged the right way, but not yet done in that. If they meet again, he'll be curious to see if the boy has resolved his will at all.

Core Ability: Void Adept<i></i>
For every action, there is a reaction, and that is an Opportunist. For every other action, however, there is a means of cancellation, of removing that force from the equation, and that is where the Void comes in. Experts of manipulating the unseen element present in Genjutsu, Void users have the ability to channel some very risky, though ultimately useful, skills.
[spoilername="CA Skills"]Pressure Points<i></i> - Independent Special Move (2 points)
You don't dodge someone's attack when you can see it coming and stop it. Likewise, you don't actually stop the opponent from attacking when they've started--you watch for the signs of them attacking and block them from ever trying.
Effect: Allows the user to cancel an opponent's attacking Taijutsu by knocking them off-balance with a targeted hit before they attack. Uses the user's melee accuracy -2 versus the target's melee dodge. If the attempt fails, the opponent's attack gains a +2 to hit. Can only be used once per round, and this is done reflexively.

Suppressing Fire<i></i> - Boost (1 point; purchased x3)
Restriction: Two melee Taijutsu mastered, can be purchased up to three times
In order to attack your opponent you can travel the route of first disabling them rather than dodging them. Void Masters are particularly adept at this, able to strike at sore points and weak spots.
Effect: The user gains +5% chance of suppression when using melee Taijutsu and basic attacks.

Advanced Cancellation<i></i> - Modification (2 points)
Restriction: Must have Cancel, C-Rank
An understanding of the opponent's mind makes it that much easier to block the effects of an illusion. Void adepts are able, through a slanted view of the world, to counter any illusion with much more success.
Effect: User gains +2 to all attempts to cancel an opponent's Genjutsu on themselves.

Extreme Understanding<i></i> - Boost (1 point; purchased x2)
Restrictions: Can be purchased twice
With their higher knowledge of the way a mind works, Void users are better able to thwart it. This results in their illusions being quite a bit more painful than the average, leaving their opponents stunned upon impact.
Effect: User gains direct damage on Genjutsu equal to 5% of its CP cost (per round).

Spell Cancel<i></i> - Independent Special Move (3 points)
Restrictions: C Rank and up
Some would say spells cannot be canceled outright, merely counteracted. Except for this, they would be right, but it can be a risky technique. Void Adepts' motions allow them to knock a spell straight out of the air.
Effect: User has the ability to, if they choose, attempt to cancel an opponent's possible Ninjutsu. This requires the use of 2 AP and the user gains -2 dodge for the round if the attempt fails. The chance of success is the use of Cancel using the users Ninjustu dodge and the opponent's Ninjutsu accuracy in place of Genjutsu Save and DC. Can only be used once a round.

Combat Efficiency<i></i> - Independent Special Move (2 points)
Restriction: Requires a weapon
By channeling their own skills into their weapon, a Void user may temporarily embed it with a mock cancellation effect. The heart of their physical techniques, sometimes this can even stop attacks altogether.
Effect: While using a weapon, user may choose to infuse it for three rounds with the Suppression ability using 300 CP. Suppression attempts with this weapon suffer a -1 acc penalty due to not being intended for the ability. Suppression chance on the weapon is 10%. A weapon that already has Suppression has its chance to activate increased by 10%.

Snapback<i></i> - Modification (2 points)
Restriction: Must have Called Shot
The Void is tied to movement, both to bridging the gap between here and there and inhibiting the opponent from doing the same. A Void master can be very effective of doing this to someone when they don't want to roll the dice on it.
Effect: User can make a Called Shot at +1 accuracy to activate Suppression on the opponent. Can only be done with basic attacks. Can only be used once a round per target.

Secondary Nature<i></i> - Boost (1 point; purchased x2)
Restrictions: Can be purchased twice
Manipulations come as second nature to the more tricky Void Adepts. The mind can be their plaything if they so choose to make it. The nature of their Genjutsu can be quite hazardous to those unprepared for mental assault.
Effect: Target gains -1 Genjutsu Save for the rest of the battle when hit by a debuffing Genjutsu. This effect cannot stack on the same target.[/i][/spoilername]

Weapons<i></i>

Main Weapon - Crescent Blade

A custom-crafted polearm, collapsible through use of the wielder's chakra, the tip being a wide near-circular crescent. The blade is sharp on both edges and it is wielded as a slashing weapon.
Type: Slashing | Accuracy: +0 | Damage: +0% | Attribute: Bleeding | Augments: Razor Strike, Daze, Chain Link

Secondary Weapon - Pavise
abNQVXV.png

A pavise is a large, heavy shield typically used to protect the bearer from hails of arrows. It can also be used to block melee blows and as a bludgeoning weapon.
Type: Bludgeoning | Accuracy: -2 | Damage: +10% | Attribute: Suppression | Augments: Vanguard, Riot Shield, Chain Link

Other Weapons

Rapier
99HrpwK.png

A rapier is an extremely thin, flexible, but nevertheless sharp and fairly sturdy sword used in fencing. Its main battlefield use is to puncture armor as a piercing weapon.
Type: Piercing | Accuracy: +2 | Damage: -10% | Attribute: +5% to Called Shots | Augments: Swift, Siege, Chain Link

Incendiary Crossbow
9voRdq7.png

Crossbows launch bolts whose main advantage over arrows is their increased wind resistance. This particular crossbow is always armed with bolts that are capable of exploding on contact and as such it is a good ranged weapon.
Type: Ranged/Piercing | Accuracy: -2 | Damage: +10% | Attribute: Bleeding | Augments: Explosive Tag Attachment, Breaker, Chain Link

Metal Shield Gloves + Boots
USFeySN.png

Custom-crafted blue and silver metal gloves that make no pretense to be anything other than combative. They are capable of deflecting blows with their retractable side attachments, but their primary use is punching people with as an unarmed weapon. They are paired with matching boots, and both possess boosted channeling abilities.
Type: Unarmed | Accuracy: +1 | Damage: -5% | Attribute: Suppression | Augments: Vanguard, Ignition, Chain Link

Javelins
CvyxmEd.png

Javelins are technically polearms, but their weight and balance make them somewhat more suited to throwing than to using at melee range. They are heavy and slightly awkward but damaging projectiles.
Type: Projectile/Piercing | Accuracy: -1 | Damage: +5% | Attribute: Ability to use handseals | Augments: Mirage, Daze, Razor Strike
