Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

Data. Data. Data. Damage Report. Operating capacity? Still operational. A little wet, but that has passed. Continue on this path. Continue to climb down. Sousuke would do just that. He would check himself, mainly because Neophyte has indeed wrecked himself (Sousuke that is). Sousuke's armour was dripping wet, but ... that was better than being stuck in a whirlpool of water. "Still making my way down."<i></i> He would report in. "...and thank-you cousin Matsu for making my journey down slightly easier... and I do mean that."<i></i> As Sousuke continued to make his way down, he would for a moment lose his grip. Perhaps he was not as dried off as he thought he was. He would then attempt to grab the vine once more. This time he had a firm grip as he made his way down. "Careful Fang. I did infact lose my grip at one point, but ... I am still holding steady."<i></i> He would report to the woman that was above him.

As Sousuke would continue his descent, he would make period stops just to survey their surroundings. This was a hole that Barynx had made in her travels. Surely there was something ... to be noticed? Sousuke had never really seen a sandworm that big before. Then again it was Barnyx and was very much the prime sandworm of its time, and ... the current age seeing as how it was ressurected from the dead. Sousuke would look about trying to determine if there was anything significantly different, aside from the size of course, that Barynx would have left to be noticed.

In all of this Roku, Neophyte, and Matsu were ahead of him. He was somewhere in the middle. Assuming Fang did not lose her grip, he would be arriving next, and she would be arriving last of course. This was the order of operations. Given that Fang did make this large vine, he half expected her to make a very showcasing ... or spectacular descent involving maybe some acrobatics. The female gender was certainly acrobatic... and some were far more acrobatic than others. He did not consider his 'cousin' Shiori to be acrobatic. When she was 'Shiori' and not 'Suna' she was as acrobatic as a ... Kirishii was apt at ballet. There was a rather painful memory of her swinging about on a ladder and crashing into bookcases, and thus dropping a number of old tomes and shelves on the two of them. Mmm. That was ... something indeed. It wasn't that she did not have an athletic body, it was that she had lacked training and secondly becuase her body was not pushed to the human limits. Then again ... she was not human and thus with all that sand in her ... could she in fact ... be acrobatic in any regard?

He would perhaps put Roku to be slightly more acrobatic than her, only slightly of course. Did Sousuke consider himself acrobatic? Perhaps? Maybe? He never really had to swing and throw himself through hazards such as flaming hoola hoops.

I forgot to add my class bonus of +1 dodge, which has been added now.
I am still climbing down, but will let go once I get close to mystic pond #1

As Amaya peered into the depths a voice would resonate from below. Though Amaya had no real visual on the source, she was 80% confident that it was the Sand's Kazakage who was issuing advice of caution. Amaya wouldn't respond but not out of rudeness or lack of respect toward any edict. No, it was to maintain noise discipline while in an uncharted and potentially hostile environment. She would regroup with the others momentarily but for now her vines still being active would have to suffice if evidence of her safety was required. Amaya would ready herself with a firm grip to decend but would find pause when confronted by the ominous sound of hissing as its source brushed by her hand. Slowly did the woman look up to greet the small creature though Amaya was not one for critters of any kind. Hopefully the little thing would be on its way but if it so decided to stare back into Amaya as she did it then let the game of chicken begin. Amaya would stare into its eyes with a blanket face void of emotions. Her emerald green eyes would not blink nor would they sway with movement. She would simply initiate a staring contest in which she focused all of her concentration into being a statue void of life in its presence. Her breathing became slowed and her heart rate would drop drastically. From her experience with snakes she knew several things about them. For one that they were for the most part poisonous and one should avoid being bitten if at all possible. For two, snakes had a keen sense of smell which was further augmented by their forked tongues. This allowed them to detect prey and threats alike even if in the dark, however, even more dangerous, they reacted to motion. So as long as Amaya stood perfectly and inhumanly still, then for the most part she had no worries. So just how great was this snake's detecting skills in comparison to Amaya's stealth prowess. Without moving Amaya's vines would no doubt aid her in obscuring her motionless stare and slowly becoming a barrier between the two to prevent it from slithering on to her. Instead the vines would gently lift the snake and aid it's direction away from her. Amaya would remain motionless until the little creature was on its way and once it was, Amaya would continue her decent.

[col]Well, that went far better than expected. Matsu's body contacted with the earth as if nothing was truly the issue. He looked around to see the others around him. His cousin had likely made it to the bottom as well at this point. Their foreign friend, however, was somewhere still above. Underneath his mask he would smirk. A bit of a waste as far as he was concerned. Maybe she would make herself more useful later. For now, Matsu would look around as requested. He was not going to stray too far from the main group. Igniting his lanterns once more, he found that it was an actual miracle that he managed to keep all of his gear with him. "No problem, cousin. I am happy to be of use." Truly, he was happy that he was actually proving his worth. Often, if people knew Matsu, they would wonder and worry why he might actually be anywhere. Here, however, he had already turned a bad situation from miserable to salvageable if not positive.

Again, he would look around just to make sure he didn't think anything was exceptionally out of place. He would remain on guard, but having 3 lights around you would generally attract some attention from whatever subterranean lurkers might be sticking around. Carefully, Matsu would remove his sword from its scabbard and let it drink in the light to some extent. It had an eerie, dark hue to it as the sand would seem to shift in the periphery of ones vision. After he felt comfortable with his nearby investigations, Matsu would return back to the larger group and report whatever findings he might have. Hopefully he would run into nothing and life would be grand, but knowing his luck he would stumble upon something that would simply want to try and kill him on the spot. That was, after all, the fate of most hunters that went above or too far below. Here, Matsu was much closer to being in his natural habitat. Here was hoping.

Carefully, Matsu would look upon his compatriots. He wanted to make sure that nothing tagged along from nowhere upon their persons. If nothing, he was deeply paranoid and somewhat meticulous. He wasn't about to have one of them

[col]Roku stuck the landing, his beautiful, bare, glistening chest was blinding. While some men might be questioning their sexuality Shiori would not notice, she was getting close and personal with the hard earthen floor. Everything hurt, she landed boob-first and contrary to man-belief they did not bounce nor did they serve as a buffer on impact. Maybe if she stuffed her bra things would have went better but the girls were more in the way than not as it was. Her face crashed into the floor milliseconds thereafter. She chewed on a mouthful of dirt before she spat it out, with a painful groan she planted her palms on the floor and with a firm press and arch of her back she tried to rise. She could hear her spine crack and pop, her shoulders and arms strain. Her mask cracked and small fragments of her mask would break off, partially exposing the water-soaked bandages beneath.

"Neophyte of the ANBU, would you like for me to punch you... with healing. I don't think it will hurt, but if it does it will very quickly start to feel better. Do you understand?"

A voice above her called. He had a strange way of phrasing his plan. "Violent healing," she groaned and scoffed as she attempted to pull herself upright with quavering arms. "Next you're going to tell me that tickling is now a sanctioned form of torture sir," she exhaled. She might have been a medic back in the day but punching was hardly a viable method of medicine. She would feel a shooting pain in her arm as she tried to lift herself so she would favor the other. The mummified Ancient would eventually find her way to her feet, gripping the wall of the pit they had descended with her 'good arm.' Her eyes saw barely more than Roku's glistening outline and she would possibly be thankful that she did not accept the ANBU's offer. Little did she know she was that monstrosity she found in the desert -- not a hybrid, an Ancient or a man but something else entirely. Something that seems to actively assimilate her kind into itself. She felt a pain in her leg as well, but she would not realize the full gravity until she rested her full weight on it as she took a step. Her knee buckled from the pain but she maintained her balance as her hand gripped the hard earth and stone.

Partially blind from pain she stared into the darkness. Her eyes saw nothing but her ears were a different story. Some of the adventurers (Sousuke) were calling to other party members over a protracted distance. His voice reverberated throughout the hollow space revealing to her sonar the stalactites and stalagmites this worn carved cavern had to offer. The strange round rocks further into the darkness. "Strange... Sir..." Neophyte commented with a low voice, she was speaking to her direct superior Roku. "The rocks in the bigger cave are round."

She would wobble towards Matsu, not Roku because she knew him even if he did not know her. He was at one time considered to be her cousin and for that reason she felt safety in his proximity, at least greater safety in his than the man who decided punches would serve as a healing measure or the man above that indeed wanted her dead or the woman that she did not know but was probably a bitch. (Meow) "Matsu, why would the cave get bigger down there?" She would add after she was a reasonable distance from the ANBU, still bracing herself on the wall. Call it intuition, she felt something was not right. "C-- Matsu... accept this," she announced as she attempted to scribe her former cousin with a seal. She would not stay long thereafter as she started to meld with the darkness and an avatar sharing her appearance took her place. A tall, scrawny mummy that moved much better than she would take her place as she hugged the wall nearby.|

Roku would offer to punch Neophyte into a state of recovery. Perhaps clarification was in order as the gimped trainee hobbled over to Matsu, a man with an even more unstable reputation. They were cousins, of course her family tree was rather complicated. As for the closeness of the Takahashi extended family, she wondered if he was even aware of Sousuke's parricide or the fact that she was dead. That was one of the problems with most families, they got together only at mournful occasions such as weddings and funerals. There was always major holidays but those were always the same, something would always 'expectantly come up last minute.' No worries, the Cabal knows the truth -- I hate your family too!

It would be a 'no' from Neophyte unless Roku was feeling particularly charitable with his violence. (Important side-notes regarding Fist of Virtue/Sin -- the effect can crit so even if the ally is willing you will need to do an 'attack' roll even if they forego an evasion roll.) As for his attempt to view the area, he lacked any form of extra sensory perception. There was little he would be able to discern down the tunnel, but in the immediate vicinity he would note a few things. First, he would recognize the unilateral favoritism on Neophyte. He would recognize that her arm and leg are injured. He would also note that the moist walls and floor were littered with strange creatures that would crunch underfoot. If he were to reach down and grab one of these strange creatures he would discover that these dead creatures were scorpions. There were dozens of them, likely displaced during the Mystic Pond Neophyte cast.

Sousuke continued to climb down the vines, hand under hand, foot under foot. As he made his descent his hand would miss his grip and his foot slipped. He would start to fall. His hands would reach out wildly and he would attempt to snatch onto an errant vine and hope that he could save himself from impact. He was able to save himself, but in doing so he would grab onto something else in addition to the thick vine he would find something that was very much alive. It would wiggle free and scurry up the length of his arm, meeting Sousuke at eye level. He would recognize the dark creature as a Shuriken Scorpion.</B>

Shuriken Scorpions are the most poisonous arachnid found in Wind Country. While there have been reports of Shuriken Scorpions outside of Wind Country, they are few and far between because these scorpions prefer hot, dry settings only offered in the desert. Shuriken Scorpions can be very aggressive, the stinger is an effective hunting and defense tool for the scorpion. Many an unfortunate avian have attempted to pluck a shuriken scorpion from the ground only to meet their death shortly thereafter. In fact it has become biologically programmed over the eons that birds will avoid all manner of scorpion in the desert.

It is believed that shuriken scorpion stings are the 8th leading cause of death for Wind Country shinobi and most common cause of death that can be directly attributed to an animal. While some animals are considerably more destructive and dangerous, such as the mighty Sandworm or Carnasaur, the Shuriken Scorpion is significantly more common and extremely dangerous. Some people actually revere the Shuriken Scorpion as a sign of strength and tenacity and tattoo themselves with an image of the scorpion on their back. They purposely expose themselves to the scorpion venom in small, calculated doses as to gain eventual immunity. They believe that in doing so enhances their vigor and call themselves a member of The Order of the Scorpion.

Necrosis is a powerful poison carried in the stinger of the Shuriken Scorpion. Necrosis is known to cause rapid death in a victim in as little as thirty minutes but it could take as long as an hour in some cases. Symptoms are almost immediate and include searing pain as the site of injection that spreads distally and then centrally. It is said that the pain is so great that the pain simply stops after several minutes and that the nothing or numbness felt is simply the nerves no longer sending impulses of pain to the brain. The Necrosis venom attacks every major organ system, blocking its ability to take up oxygen, causing cell death in a matter of minutes. Victims often die due to multi-organ system failure within the hour.

Sousuke: Roll to determine if you are stung by the Scorpion's Tail.

He would make it to the bottom of the hole, with minor damages (2,000) if he was stung because that would cause him to loose his grip and fall the last several feet or Scot-free (0 damage) as he landed safely on the ground. The scorpion would have lingering effects that would last long after the initial sting. For a man who routinely lost limbs on adventures, one could only hope that this time luck was on the Kazekage's side.

Amaya would find herself in a similar situation, only perilously further from the bottom. Something would skitter in front of her and she would remain completely still. A curvy rock, the arachnid would march along the length of her arm. She would see the dark eyes and shiny black carapace of the venomous creature. She was so still she was like a rock (stealth 19). It would ascend her face and she would feel its scratchy legs travel through her hair. It would not remain on her forever, it would turn around tickling her neck as it went before it would find its way back down her arm and onto the net-like vines and uneven rocky tunnel walls. She would forego progress towards the floor to preserve her safety.

Matsu would take a silent inventory of his supplies. His lanterns would illuminate the immediate area, all those near the Plague Bearer would be temporarily blinded as the darkness was ripped away from them. The floor was wet from Shiori's pond, the dead insects covered the ground. With the light, with their eyes they would see the tunnel meander into the darkness beyond the reach of the light. Matsu would move ahead of the party, it would be during this time that he thought he heard but did not see something move. Perhaps it was Matsu's imagination. Perhaps there was nothing there.

Shiori would inch her way towards the returning Jounin and offer him a ward but it was an offer not a forced gift. (Roll 16) Shiori would be the next to hear (sonar) something moving, something shifting.

Roku would not remain oblivious, just the last to notice less the two hanging above. Sousuke would be soon to land and would know nothing of the impending threat, Amaya even further from the floor having avoided the threat that was a scorpion she would not notice the impending threat below. Roku would see a shadow in the darkness, perhaps... maybe...

Then there would be no mistaking it. There was something ALIVE and there was more than one.

To Sousuke's luck, he would find himself an extra companion. While his relationship to insects was excellent, if not odd at times, he did not share such a relationship with scorpions who were in fact arachnids. Sousuke watched as it shifted about and its stinger rose. Unfortunately for Sousuke it was on his arm that was not metallic, it was armoured but there was flesh underneath. Sousuke was made of metal and stern stuff, but there was indeed some fleshy bits underneath it all.

Upon landing with a clank, Sousuke would look over his arm. If he was indeed poisoned he would have to deal with it now rather than later. Necrosis was something that would in time cause a complete and total cease function. Luckily he knew someone who would be capable of dealing with that. Rioshi/Shiori also knew this individual too. In fact she knew her quite intimately because she got stung by her a few times, and getting stung did in fact hurt quite a bit. "Shuriken Scorpion sting possibility. [col]Matsu had some concerns for those around him as it become much more apparent that not only were there scorpions, but that there was something nearby. He would allow for the Neophyte to place whatever seal she had on him before beginning to become more Perhaps it was not the most prudent of options, but he held his sword tightly in his hand. What a problem it would all be. "Problem. Probably. Not just scorpions." He would keep it brief as time was often of the utmost importance. Huffing, he would drive his sword into the ground before flashing through a series of seals. If he were lucky, fire would erupt and spread around him creating an artificial barrier of fire while, coupled with his lanterns, would illuminate the area around them. Hopefully he would prevent himself from being attacked by scorpions if he was lucky enough. They were nasty and he had been stung by them several times in his years. Thankfully, he had perfected means of extracting poisons at that point in time. Sadly, it required a living host to be stung before actually being able to remove the agent. There was no way to really...make the specimen sterile beforehand.

From there he would pick his sword back up and wait. He was not about to get surprised by something down here in that way. That was absolutely not the way he was about to go out. Worst case scenario would be climbing out and everyone else dying, right? That was the best case. Probably. He really didn't know at this point. Whatever it was would hopefully be driven off by the fact they were aware of it or they would freak out and begin their attack. Also another probably. He had no idea without actually seeing what it was. He sighed and prepared. Likely it would all happen soon enough. At least, for the best part, there was a giant wasp and his cousin continued to be oblivious to the world around them. It was absolutely amazing he had made it this far in life. How were they even related when they thought so differently. Were they different? It was now he was beginning to wonder.

Such an unprepossessing circumstances Amaya found herself in. The little critter would find its way up her arm and began its capering about her crown. It's little gross legs tip toeing about was enough to give any woman jitters and yet Amaya managed to maintain discipline. It was no easy feat but she pulled it off somehow. Her eyes tracing it's movements as it scurried away. A sigh escaped the poor kunochi warrior as she continued her downward expedition into the Abyss. Amaya would keep a sharp ear out in case any felt the need to continue shouting up at her. The sound of the wind passing and entering the mouth of the hole made for a irritating obstacle as it was overpowering most of all other sounds. The kunochi warrior would sigh once more. The others should have undoubtedly reach the bottom which meant that she no longer needed to maintain support in adding their decent in which case Amaya now had the option of an easier traveling method.

"Wood style! Ingrain no jutsu!"

With this jutsu, Amaya would have far less trouble reaching the bottom now. Essentially she could more or less walk straight down. She would start to hear the others though faint and unreadable but she would not call out to them. For now, she would just focus on reaching the bottom in order to regroup with the others. She would start to wonder if they found any thing interesting or if someone died... it was a pretty large plumbed they choose when deciding to just jump right in.

[col]The noises were something terrible that she had heard before but she could not remember where, that restless, bellowing cry that reverberated off the walls and the ceiling. It seemed to only get louder. It gave her a dire sense of dread in the pit of her stomach as her palm was planted in her 'cousin's' back. A mark that would tether his soul to that body and give him a second chance in case the first he forfeited to an act of foolishness of senseless heroism. Then she faded into the shadows, leaving in her wake a pair of women that looked a lot like her. Tall, wearing a dark heavy cloak and bandaged limbs that were only just barely exposed. They both donned featureless white masks much like her own and they stood there, arms crossed over their chest.

Neophyte was badly injured, it was far from critical but these wounds would hinder her performance and reduce her chances of survival. She could feel the dull ache in her arm and leg and the shooting pain when she bore weight on either. She let out a shuddering, pained breath as she drew forth from her own well of spiritual energy and released a burst of white, hot healing essence directly into her injured arm and leg. She could feel the grating of her bones as they shifted back into place as the pain momentarily intensified. She almost immediately regretted the action but she knew the pains would only be temporary if she worked through it. Then she felt a *snap* as the displaced and cracked bones joined as the discomfort receded. It was not entirely gone, there was still that twinge when she moved but it was better than before.

She would look up and see the woman still descending, she did not call out to her because she could likely hear the ruckus below. She did not expect the foreigner to continue to descend but she did. If she had any sense she would climb in the other direction she thought. But Sousuke did not seem to notice to aberrant sounds either as he fixated himself on 'tickle-torture.' It would seem Matsu was the only one concerned with the strange goings on up ahead.

"Problem. Probably. Not just scorpions."

A burst of yellow flames would encircle the Takahashi. The light would fill the immediate space with an eerie glow as the shadows made by the flames would dance. But all things seen in those flames were indeed not shadows made by his conflagration. Something shifted and writhed, not there where they stood. There impossibly long shadows were where they were supposed to be, this was something bigger. A wall of flames would separate Matsu from the threat but the same could not be said of the rest of the party. She could not tell what they were, despite her keen sense of sound through her sonar she could not determine what those things were. Strange, rounded stones littered the next room as well as oblong creatures that broke through the stones. Or out.

Well, crap... How fast could she climb?

If she was at he betting sort she would say, not faster than them. "Worms," she would announce in a low voice. A lot of worms. For those whom might not have recalled, the legendary Barynx was a female, something not often considered when tales of the 'terror of the dunes' are recounted. Barynx's egglair was infiltrated and razed, but that would not be the last time she laid a nest. She died before her eggs could be laid all those years ago, she was pregnant and nobody knew. Well, it was known at the time but not well-recorded. Before she went on her rampage, she laid her clutch in this deep, dark hole and they were now hatching, dozens of them.

There were stories of her previous egglair, it was said that there were hundreds of eggs in that cavern but she did not see hundreds here. No, perhaps... dozens? Odd. Dozens would prove to be a threat enough.|

The scorpion reared up its dangerous, coiled tail and attempted to inject its poison into Sousuke. Sousuke shook his arm violently (17) and the unfortunate arachnid was launched from Sousuke and would plummet to the depths below. It would narrowly miss Matsu (10) and Shiori (16), but it would land on Roku's back. Its long, muscular tail would plunge itself into Roku's glorious, wet glistening flesh (10) before Roku could shake it off (2). A sudden, burning sensation would be immediately felt in Roku's left arm, it would feel heavy (sprained) and as if someone poured alcohol on a series of tiny open wounds down the length of his arm (1% max HP has been lost). The necrotic effect of this poison was progressive. The entry point would be the first effected but it would quickly spread, disabling the Sennin over the next few minutes until he ultimately died unless he received some sort of intervention.

Matsu's ring of fire enveloped the cautious Jounin. He was right in creating a wall of fire. The heat and the light made the skittering creates creep back. They preferred the darkness and several of them let out a hissing noise, it would be in stereo as he would hear the incested creatures make their warning cry from both sides. However, he was the only one that was safe from the creatures. Sousuke had landed on the ground, his feet narrowly missing one of the creeping creatures it would rear up its tail and attempt to strike the man in the lower leg (20 - CRIT). The stinger would break through his pants (evasion 6), his leather boots if he wore them or between the plates of metal. There would be a deep, dull pain as the stinger went deep enough to hit bone. The pain would be deep (2% of Sousuke's max health as opposed to 1% due to the crit) and his foot would be in extreme pain (fractured as opposed to sprained). Like Roku, this virulent toxin would only spread and both their lives were in peril it would seem.

There were three others, on the walls and the floor nearby. Two of them would attempt to sting Neophyte (20 - CRIT) (1), the first one would take her by surprise (4) as it stung her in the back of her leg. The other was making a fair amount of noise, she was able to notice it in time and avoid it but only barely (1). The pain in her recently repaired leg seemed to be worse than it ever was before. it felt as if someone had set her blood ablaze (2% max HP lost and a fractured leg). Her healing technique would start to mend her injury as quickly as it came, however it would only delay the necrosis a short time (fractured debuff removed) and at the cost of her chakra stores if she was not careful.

The final scorpion was high up the wall, near Amaya. it was descending much like she was down the length of vines and the wooden scaffolding she manufactured. It was a rather ingenious method to safely lower oneself into the darkness, but her heel slipped (3) and she lost her balance. Her hand would reach out for one of the vines (2) but her fingers would graze the coiled greenery and she would not be able to grab hold. She would start to fall, but her rapid, plummeting descent would be slowed as she cast anti-gravity on herself. This would be fortuitous for two reasons, the first being that she would land on the uneven rocky floor unharmed and she would also avoid landing on one of her allies even if all three of the men here were likely in dire need of some lady action.

The scorpion would skitter after her, remaining close to the darkness and the shadows, its beady eyes watching the intrusion of not one but many enormous strangers in its domain. The heat from Matsu's fire would make the space they shared incredibly hot. The scorpions were certainly a danger and a problem but they would not be the only concern for the adventurers. The deep, bellowing cries they heard were not coming from the five scorpions, but something else. Matsu would warn the party that there was something else to concern themselves with and he would be correct. There was indeed something else out there. Neophyte would call them 'worms' and she would not be wrong. There was an egglair up ahead, the progeny of the most dangerous and infamous sandworm to ever live. They took on the reanimated remains of the long dead avatar of gluttony and destruction and it took considerable resources to do so. Matu's flames would illuminate the space just barely, only the edges of these creatures could be seen. They would moving, shifting and writhing and there were many.

Amaya's slippery mind was able to take count:</B>

  • Ten rounded stones that could very easily be eggs
  • A shadowy humanoid figure in the dark distance.

These were unsettling numbers, the sort of numbers you make mention of when a team is about to get overridden by a force significantly greater than their own.

The creatures did not take notice of the group until Matsu cast his Ring of Fire, with a great guttural sound from some of the hatchling worms they made their approach. The stumpy, segmented bodies indicated their youth but despite being as young as they were, each one of these neonates was the size of a refrigerator and they would inch closer. The climb would be too long and too arduous to make before the worms reached them and three of the five had already been stung by a Shuriken Scorpion. It would not be long before all of them were out of commission. They would have to act now and they would have to act fast.

There would be a shadowy figure in the dark, burdened by a rounded rock that which was now obviously an egg. The was making his way further from the flames and the intruding party. The worms, however seemed to be more interested in the newcomers than the thief.

What is Happening:

[col]He was once a lucky man, surviving the fall as he did but it would seem that luck for pass him over in this latest exchange, and it might have been because he did himself no favors by just standing there looking around. Either way, he was stung and there was no reason to try and argue that point. The only thing going for him was that he had evolved since his last go around, making him a little better at fixing his own problems and potentially helping those around him. From the sound of things, it would appear that the scorpions were not their only worries as more creepy crawlies began to emerge.

While the urge to punch things was swelling up from the depths of his soul, there was a more immediately sensation that he was going to need to tend to before moving onward. His arm had been stung and it hurt like all hell. There were also three 'baby' worms making their way towards him, with probably poor intentions for his now hurting body. It was time to pull magic out of his butt and do something exciting. Well, maybe not exciting. Maybe it would be more self-preservey if nothing else. Regardless, it was time to get his ass in action.

Chakra would begin to churn and mold within his body as he started to repair himself, but he would notice that others were also in precarious situations. Would the be willing to take a helping hand or would that energy be better spent cutting down some of the monsters within the area. Decisions, decisions.

Spiritualist emanate a calming, pacifying aura that washes over their allies, imbuing them with a sense of precision and clear-mindedness that makes their strikes more precise.
Effect: User and allies gain +2 accuracy. Does not stack with other users of White Blessing.
Holy Weapon - Passive
The blade of the Spiritualist must be mighty and strike true, just as all their blows must. One with this special affinity can strike well indeed. The inner light of the user's chakra shimmers off a blade with this power in it, and they are said never to grow dull or rusty, and the wood of their wooden weapons to never rot or need polishing.
Effect: Grants +10% damage and +1 accuracy to the user's weapon of choice. While the user carries this weapon, their healing jutsu are 15% more effective.
Holy Embodiment - Passive
As guardians against evil, Spiritualists are naturally resistant to the effects of it. They do not shirk in the face of fear, nor are they repelled easily. Those Spiritualists with this skill are said to have the appearance of a shimmering white aura around them by those sensitive to such things, as if to shield them.
Effect: All Dark jutsu do 50% damage to them. User is immune to fear effects and intimidation effects. Suppression or other AP reduction or attack disrupting effects have only half their normal chance of working on them.
Spiritual Chakra - Boost (x2)
The default chakra of a Spiritualist is not the same as that of their fellow ninja, but rather gifted with a different kind of power altogether. It seems to cut through anything that hinders it with little effort.
Effect: +10% damage to all Ninjutsu. This damage counts as 'Light' element and cuts through half of Ninjutsu damage reduction. This bonus applies to all other Spiritualist light chakra techniques as well.
Fifth Gate - Gate of Limit: +10% damage to unarmed weapons. Bolsters unarmed to 60% damage cap.
Sixth Gate - Gate of View: +2 acc/dodge, Instant clone recognition

(I had summoned Joou in my last post, it was in the first spoiler instead of the second ... where I had redone by CP accordingly)

Sandworms. Yes. Lots of them. Brood of Barnyx. Sousuke would legitatemly sigh and his shoulders would hand for a moment. "Ah. Yes. Sandworms. This goes to address my concern as to the dead younglings inside of Barnyx."<i></i> Sousuke spoke in the most bored sounding voice ever. Not only did Sousuke's wall just up and reanimate, it also decided to go ahead and give birth. Sousuke would look to his cousin and then Roku. "Hey. Idea. Tame them? It would be a boon of sorts to the village. We can keep them from getting into the wrong hands, and more importantly ... preserve them. Sort of."<i></i> Sousuke wasn't sure if the idea was going to fly, or if taming one was even possible.

Somewhere in Sousuke's mind he forgot about a certain nuisance that was that the scorpions. By this time the Wasp Queen Joou would appear. The large insect queen would look at the situation around her. "I'm disappointed in you."<i></i> Sousuke would give her that questioning look of why? "You know why. Gambunta is bragging about how he particpated in what he claims to be the battle of the past hundred years. He got to fight Barnyx! Why was I not called?! Do you not love your Queen?"<i></i> She clicked and spoke down to him. Sousuke would rub the back of his head. He was speechless. At least the Queen wasn't going on and on about him being far more ... "Have you been brushing up on your title usage lately? Have you been practicing your egoing?"<i></i> Egoing? Really? Sousuke was not exactly sure what the answer that one.

"Some people found out I was the Kazekage ... and profusely apologized for almost insulting me?"<i></i> The Queen Wasp would nod her head. Good. Good. She was pleased with that. The Queen was clapping her appendages together. Was she clapping? The Wasp Queen wanted Sousuke to be more bold, more boastful, more prideful of his lineage. Sousuke would return his attention once more to the scorpions. "Everyone. This is Queen Joou. Please don't forget her title. She is the help I called for to deal with the cure for the scorpions."<i></i> Speaking of which Sousuke would begin to open fire upon them. If the scorpions were stinging people then her cure meant very little if people could get stung again. Sousuke would first burn the scorpions like his cousin was doing earlier. Then he would mentally fashion lightning senbon in between his gauntleted fingers. Five total, and then he would send them out to deal with the deal with the scorpions.

Once he was done with the ranged attacks, he would then decide to attempt to put the final nails in the coffin for their arachnid annoyances. Sousuke would draw not one, but two blades. The blades would then ignite one of them was burning, and the other crackled with lightning. To Rioshi, who was better known as Shiori who was also know as Suna - these blades to here were foreign. She would recognize the craftsmenship behind them - but these twins were very different from what she was used to seeing from before. With that Sousuke would begin phase shifting and slashing at the arachnids.

Summoning some sort of terrifying bee monster to try and keep them safe while prattling on about titles and saying nothing worthwhile. He sighed at the unfortunate circumstances. Taking a steady stance, Matsu drew himself low and keep his center of gravity relatively centered. There was something shuffling off in the distance and then there was the situation here. Would he remain or go after the target he felt was going to produce trouble in the future? Matsu would leap out of the fire and begin a full sprint towards the target off in the distance. The little nightmares might come after him, but he had a nastier surprise. As he took a deep breath in, the ring of fire would collapse and shatter outwards at those that might be attacking him. Hopefully it would desecrate their bodies and dry them up. It would be focused higher than normal, as Matsu was a master of most every element he commanded. What a nightmare this could be. Those worms would like chase after him like some sort of a hot meal, unless they felt that the violence to them was not worth their time.

Quickly, upon arriving at the figure, Matsu's sword would flick from its scabbard and slice rapidly in the air as if it was drawn all along. It was nightmarish, to say the least, what this man would do if he managed to make anything around him bleed. It was what he hoped for. Screaming silently in the dark, his blade drew in his essence into itself to bolster itself for later. Blood shot across the blade as he squeezed the hilt and it coated the blade in malign spirits, shrieking into the darkness no longer inwardly, but outwardly, as the souls stored within the Nanjirou cried out in agony at their familial imprisonment. One day when Matsu died, he too would be interred into this blade and given to a relative with the gift.

Not the most graceful entrance however it would seem she had arrived just in time. The party seemed to be in a bit of a pinch and the last thing they would need is Amaya plummet ending in the severe injury of herself and or others. Though she was successful in breaking her own fall due to special earth manipulation techniques, she only avoided the frying pan. The fire, however, awaited. Even with below average visibility several unsettling observations could easily be made by the kunochi warrior thanks to the temporary illumination caused by a ring of fire. Injured party members, abnormal sized scorpions, shifty movements within the dark, a strange humanoid figure in the distance looking to make an exit. Perhaps he had the right idea whoever he was. But unlikely was it they'd successfully make a retreat in their current conditions, and what's worse, in consideration to the ambush and overwhelming numbers to their front, a successful Counter attack was also unlikely to end in their favor. In fact, death was all but certain given the battlefield conditions. They were grossly out numbered with the majority clearly injured and suffering of ailment. The talking giant wasp and Amaya seemed to be the only two unharmed at the moment. This was already turning into a shyt show, However, Amaya would ready herself as she knew that theoretical calculations were all but pointless when one keeps their will strong. Her eyes would trace the reckless comrade charging in After the figure to the rear. Had he completely lost his mind? Since one partner already rushed in like a mad man, it was probably best to use him as a distraction even if the method was a bit unethical. Holy Weapon - Passive
The blade of the Spiritualist must be mighty and strike true, just as all their blows must. One with this special affinity can strike well indeed. The inner light of the user's chakra shimmers off a blade with this power in it, and they are said never to grow dull or rusty, and the wood of their wooden weapons to never rot or need polishing.
Effect: Grants +10% damage and +1 accuracy to the user's weapon of choice. While the user carries this weapon, their healing jutsu are 15% more effective.
Holy Embodiment - Passive
As guardians against evil, Spiritualists are naturally resistant to the effects of it. They do not shirk in the face of fear, nor are they repelled easily. Those Spiritualists with this skill are said to have the appearance of a shimmering white aura around them by those sensitive to such things, as if to shield them.
Effect: All Dark jutsu do 50% damage to them. User is immune to fear effects and intimidation effects. Suppression or other AP reduction or attack disrupting effects have only half their normal chance of working on them.
Spiritual Chakra - Boost (x2)
The default chakra of a Spiritualist is not the same as that of their fellow ninja, but rather gifted with a different kind of power altogether. It seems to cut through anything that hinders it with little effort.
Effect: +10% damage to all Ninjutsu. This damage counts as 'Light' element and cuts through half of Ninjutsu damage reduction. This bonus applies to all other Spiritualist light chakra techniques as well.

I am sure I forgot something. Already sought calls for what I thought might be questioned caused a minor delay yes but the largest delay was that I was on shift and my earlier attempt at the mod (the order of operations and coding take the longest) and it was lost when my computer restarted for an update while I was on shift. I did make some minor edits due to Black Blockade and targeting (barriers always make the battle confusing). I think I got most of the things.
- Missed Roku's damages to Worm #1 (edited)
- Missed Roku's Chakra Armor backlash on the worms that hit him (edited)
- Roku's Healing Factor was unlisted so was unmoderated these past 2 rounds. Added it for both.
- The mysterious stranger's bleed rank should have increased with the crits. Multihitting attacks that have multiple crits would not give multiple instances of increased bleed (much like suppression unless the attack states otherwise).
- The Mysterious Stranger has 2 stacks of Open Wounds due to the bleeding ranks that Matsu has inflicted upon his target.
- Annihilation modifiers are the attack's modifier, the stated acc and the weapon's acc as it is a +5% at -1 acc weapon.
Inventory
 
In the big, dark, black terrible pit creatures did live. Not just the gloomy shelled scorpions whose stingers did sting but also, the writhing and wiggling worms. They were still moist, their shells freshly broken these burgeoning annelids focused their attention on the intruders in their nest. So small and so pale pink, thin and malnourished. So unlike them. These maggot-like creatures outweighed each man and woman there by a few hundred pounds, a testament to how large these creatures can indeed become. Their mother, Barynx was merely a shell of her former self. Something that in her prime required the combined effort of hundreds of men and even then it only trapped her until death sound a way on its own. Many forget that Barynx was a mother and many more forget that the final battle was waged when shinobis came upon her first egg-lair. They did not realize that it was not yet full.

The infant Sandworms let out a terrible, high pitched cry and some barreled directly for the shinobis. There were eggs here as well still (60) that had not yet been hatched, perhaps they never would or perhaps they would break open any moment forcing the group to face a horde of newborn sandworms. A sane person would flee given these odds, but the vocation of shinobi is not for those of sound mind, only body. Many of the shinobi took the defensive, although some certainly took to the offensive with meager successes. The scorpions with their poisoned tails failed to sting and with their claws they tried to grab and with their teeth they tried to bite. Their teeth and claws would cut deeper than the worms, but the sandworms were more numerous and they were faster. They would thrash and crash into and upon the shinobi housed in this cavern, terribly spraining Roku in the process.

Yet this was not the greatest threat in the cavern. No, it was not the sandworms or the scorpions, rather it was the man in the back in the shadows that carried the burden of one such egg. The egg was larger than he by a great margin but he seemed unhindered by this as the egg gently rocked in cadence with his gait. He seemed uninterested in the battle that was playing out at the mouth of the cavern as he carried the egg further away into unknown depths. His presence and his relatively silent departure did not go unnoticed by all. Matsu came for him, his blade cut into the man's back and blood would seep through his clothes and drip onto the floor. The egg would be placed onto the floor and it would roll away several feet before it would be caught on a large stone that would stop its reckless travels.

With a great sigh, the stranger would turn. He looked young, like a teenager or perhaps a young adult. He was certainly dressed more like a teenager with the cotton tank top and the tattoos that covered his arm. The pictographs would mean nothing to Matsu, they looked like a foreign language of some sort, perhaps a relic of Terran. "Dude... was hope'n I was not gonna have to kill you," the young man announced as he flicked his sunglasses onto the top of his head. Yes, he was wearing sunglasses in the pitch dark realm of this cavern. "Pfff..." He made an additional noise of complaint. He was going to let the arachnids and annelids have them, it seemed like the easiest of options. "What a fucking waste of time..."

Matsu was faster than he looked, the ridiculous old dude he was. Normally that would be a source of frustration for most combatants, but not for this man. In the darkness a smile seemed to eclipse his face and the glistening gleam of his ivory teeth and the whites of his eyes all that could be seen in the shadowy depths. A low guffaw would rattle his chest, A rare moment that will need to be marked. I was wrong." He continued to chuckle lowly, "not a waste." He could feel the blood-lust well up inside of him. The thrill of battle was utterly exhilarating. He clenched his hands and made tight fists and released a maddened, almost maniacal laughter that would echo through the cave. His eyes would scan the immediate vicinity. How many were there. One... Two... Three... A wall? Oh-ho-ho-ho. MORE. Perhaps he could find the time to stay and play for a little while.

A wall partitioned the battleground into two distinct arenas. The foreign woman against a small collection of enemies and the rest against the remainder of the beasts. She was doing well, taking to the shadows and the darkness, where he true strength happened to lay. The other bandaged woman was doing well also, her ability to self-heal being her greatest asset at the moment. As for the men, some of the scorpions were ultimately slain or knocked unconscious by Sousuke. Some of the Sandworms were seared by Roku's fiery presence and his righteous fists.
 
There is just too many.

Her eyes opened with horror as she realized fully what they had walked into, the nest of the legendary Barynx. It would appear that her dead children were resurrected along with her. She had no idea that this was even down here, but a more terrifying secondary prospect she wondered was -- did this mean that the corruption was also resurrected along with her. The curse of devouring ones own kind was terrible indeed, a taboo among most sentient species for a reason -- failure to abide would cause one to devolve into madness. It was the one truth that persisted even through the eras -- when Ancients were young and when the first men descended upon these gilded plains. It made her uneasy to consider the ramifications, little did she realize that it was even worse than she had considered.

Instinctively a painful aura rolled off of her like a mist. She was getting stronger each and every day, but she was far from her pinnacle of power she once was. She could feel the life and the strength of those around her fill her being. The welling energy inside of her ached and cried for release, her hands would run through one complex array after another as she called upon the dead to aid her. They would reach from the earth and attempt to grapple the worms. Their rotted arms would encircle a pair just before a dark wall separated her from one of her thralls. Its hold over the worm would be brief but it would perhaps give them more time. The sandworm came crashing down on Roku, twisting his limbs painfully in the process as it crushed him under its weight. "Sir!" Neophyte would shout to Roku, "do not avoid my touch!" She was referring to her clones and not herself but she did not have the time for semantics. If he consented, both of her Medical Assistant Clones would start rubbing their hands over the masked Sennin. He might have been enjoyable if he was getting groped by something more attractive than a mummy and if he was not fighting for his life, again semantics.

3.0 AP Shiori casts Tatsumaki [Mastered] using Hashigaki's Sound Crystalization to convert this wind jutsu into sound element and using Corrupted Energy to turn this into a Dark jutsu for additional damage. This jutsu will also use AE special move Overcharge to increase the damage and Combo so that this will immediately follow my previous jutsu. This will target the 'healthiest' looking sandworm/scorpion that is left.
3.0 AP Shiori casts Ambiance of the Forbidden: Northern Winds [Mastered] using Hashigaki's Sound Crystalization to convert this wind jutsu into sound element and using Corrupted Energy to turn this into a Dark jutsu for additional damage. This jutsu will also use AE special move focus to increase the accuracy as well as the critical range and due to elementalist also using control to reduce the CP costs and use one-handed seals. This will target the 'healthiest' looking sandworm/scorpion that is left.

[col]He was still getting used to his body after the previous worm battle, he newfound powers from the accumulated energies of different beings and using a metal hand. All of it let to a very rocky start in the current predicament, with the culmination being that not one but two of the baby worms would come crashing down on top of him. As if random chance did not already hate him enough. Blood would sputter into his mask as he would not have the luxury of screaming or yelling out in pain as all the air seemingly left his lungs between the battering. There were still scorpions, there was some figure Matsu was going after and there was some sprinkled dirt stuff on him. All of this was proving to be very annoying.

His eyes, hazy like a boxer who had just been dropped to the mat, would glance up towards the direction of the ANBU who called out. She was going to give him help. That would be fine. It would be annoying, but it would be fine. He would pull himself up from the ground, await her opportunity to provide medical support and he would continue doing what he seemingly did the best; be a punching bag.

While everything was connecting with him, there was another feeling washing over him that numbed his pain; anger. Clenching his fists, chakra would begin to expel from him causing the immediate area around him to vibrate faintly as his eyes went solid white. A low, primal, guttural yell would bellow from behind the mask as his hair seemed to raise up as if being hit by a breeze.

"TOO MANY GODDAMN WORMS!!!"

It was time for the punching bag to punch back.

Holy Weapon - Passive
The blade of the Spiritualist must be mighty and strike true, just as all their blows must. One with this special affinity can strike well indeed. The inner light of the user's chakra shimmers off a blade with this power in it, and they are said never to grow dull or rusty, and the wood of their wooden weapons to never rot or need polishing.
Effect: Grants +10% damage and +1 accuracy to the user's weapon of choice. While the user carries this weapon, their healing jutsu are 15% more effective.
Holy Embodiment - Passive
As guardians against evil, Spiritualists are naturally resistant to the effects of it. They do not shirk in the face of fear, nor are they repelled easily. Those Spiritualists with this skill are said to have the appearance of a shimmering white aura around them by those sensitive to such things, as if to shield them.
Effect: All Dark jutsu do 50% damage to them. User is immune to fear effects and intimidation effects. Suppression or other AP reduction or attack disrupting effects have only half their normal chance of working on them.
Spiritual Chakra - Boost (x2)
The default chakra of a Spiritualist is not the same as that of their fellow ninja, but rather gifted with a different kind of power altogether. It seems to cut through anything that hinders it with little effort.
Effect: +10% damage to all Ninjutsu. This damage counts as 'Light' element and cuts through half of Ninjutsu damage reduction. This bonus applies to all other Spiritualist light chakra techniques as well.
Fifth Gate - Gate of Limit: +10% damage to unarmed weapons. Bolsters unarmed to 60% damage cap.
Sixth Gate - Gate of View: +2 acc/dodge, Instant clone recognition
Seventh Gate - Gate of Wonder: +1 AP This does not double in Gate of Death, +2 Gen save
Sacred Style - Physical Style (2 points)

The plasma explosion went off and damaged some of the scorpions. There were indeed a few of them standing now. Sousuke was counting the numbers present. Yes sandworms were a danger. Yes so was poisoning. There was also that strange man that cousin decided to go fight. Yes. This was all going quite ... not well. Sandworm screeches were going off. Those were equally concerning and dangerous. "Point of order sandworm screeches will cause one to lose focus in their efforts. A testament to Sousuke's ability to create. Sousuke would continue his attacks upon the sandworm
