Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Ko was excited. This was his very first real class at the Academy, beyond the usual hum-drum beat of the normal everyday classes. It was listed as being a class open to all Academy Students on the bulletin board in the main hall, so Ko decided that he would just show up and hope for the best. He'd read from the flyer about it that it had something to do with Survival and Killing, but that was pretty vague and a little dark. Hopefully the class wasn't all doom and gloom—whatever it was, he was still excited to go. Upon arriving, it would appear that he had not been the first to show up, having been outpaced by two girls and one boy. A couple of things about this small group caught his eye—one of the girls seemed to have heterochromia, and the boy was enraptured in a book that, judging from the title, seemed to be involving medicine and the healing arts in general—but he figured that he'd save these little interesting pieces of information for the moment. Approaching the teacher, Ko gave him a slight bow of the head to acknowledge him as the superior. He then took a seat, somewhere in the middle between the two girls and the guy who looked to be pretty lost in his book.

Ko decided to introduce himself to the ladies first. He gave them both a smile, then spoke in a soft, but not overly quiet, voice. "Hey, nice to meet you two! My name's Kotsuko, but you can both call me Ko." He waited for a moment to see if they'd introduce themselves as well, or whether they'd just look at him and exclaim loudly that he had cooties or something. Assuming they introduced themselves too, he would try to keep the conversation rolling. "This is my first class. Not exactly sure what to expect, but I hope it'll be good." He turned to the boy who seemed to be lost in his book and tried to drag him into the conversation too. "What about you, guy? Have you taken any of these academy classes before?" He was hoping to make some friends, if not forever at least for this class. There was nothing worse than working with people that hated or even slightly disliked you.

"Here, Whiskers! Come on out!" Ko had been tasked with the finding of a lost cat, one of the simpler missions to be given out to people. The Academy Students always got stuck with this kind of job, and in general it just wasn't something that anyone would consider fun. Still, it was a job that was tasked specifically to Ko, so he would do his best in carrying out the mission. He search high and low, looking in back alleys and in dumpsters for the lost cat 'Whiskers'. The client had said that he was a sleek black cat, the kind that would always get into trouble. This was the fifth time he'd run away, she said, and that last time this happened he didn't come home for a week. She looked distraught when she told him all of this, but perhaps things were a bit too perfectly laid out? Something seemed off when she'd said everything, but Ko didn't mention it then. He calmly and methodically searched the area she told him he might have been in, which was a pretty wide area around her home in the Seki District.

As he walked around, he noticed a cat was there that didn't have a collar on. He matched the description—was that him? The cat hadn't spotted him, so the kid started to rush the creature. Without turning its head, though, the cat sidestepped Ko's flight path. What the heck? The way the cat moved was a little odd, too. What the heck was going on? As the cat started to run away, Ko determined that he didn't want the thing getting away from him. He threw a handful of kunai just in front of it, halting the cat in its tracks. At that moment Ko managed to catch up, grabbing hold of the creature. As he did, something immediately seemed to be wrong: this cat didn't feel like a cat at all. It was wood? The young boy looked even closer, and he say that, at several points on the cat's body, there were strands of what looked like chakra attached to it! What the heck?

The young boy confronted the client about this. "Oh, well, you see..." She was nervous. She was hiding something. Unfortunately for her, though, there was no way for her to talk her way out of this one. "Okay, fine...this isn't really my cat. It's my puppet. I'm a puppeteer, you see, and I was just trying to have a bit of fun with it..." Good grief. Ko was trying hard to keep his face composed, but it was really hard to do so in this circumstance. Ko took his reward money, went home, and spent the next hour coming to terms with the fact that he'd been had all day long for this woman's pleasure. He needed a shower or something to wash this uneasy feeling off of him. What a nut job.

Well, seemed as if things were going along rather smoothly. The girl did recognize him, and she even seemed to be holding a conversation with him. How unexpected! Ko chuckled a bit at her assessment of the lesson, wondering what kind of teachers she'd had so far at the academy. They must have all been nut jobs, or something. "I suppose. Though that teacher did go on...and on...and on...and..." Ko pretended to be falling asleep, his voice cutting out and his head bobbing down to rest on his chest. As it dipped down, he acted like he'd just been startled awake, looking surprised and everything. "Oh, sorry about that. The lecture was so boring, it put me to sleep now!" He gave her a smile, clearly indicating that it was a joke, before he settled back down to continue the conversation. "I suppose you're more of the studious type, then? I didn't expect you to be here reading, the way you seemed to sit at the back of the class." It wasn't really a question, just more of a remark, really. He didn't expect her to comment, or follow that train of dialogue. Still, he was truthfully honest in the matter—she didn't seem to be the type to spend her time in the library. 'You learn something new everyday,' the young boy mused.

As she continued to talk though, it seemed that things were to take an interesting turn. "Snow White? You've got to be joking me..." Ko looked exasperated. He couldn't believe this. Did she just nickname him?! "No way. Uh-uh. That's not happening. You can't nickname me, because I don't know enough about you to give you a proper nickname. What would I call you? Two-Eyes? That's ludicrous..." Two-Eyes was an obviously playful jab at her, quite beautiful actually, heterochromia. One eye was blue and one was green. Ko didn't think it was something to make fun of, which was why he wrote it off as a bad nickname. "You're not allowed to give me a nickname until I can think of one for you. That's the end of it." Ko was trying to hide a playful smile, but he was really quite bad at it. His joking manner was obvious, and would hopefully come across as the joke that he'd intended it to be.

As he sat there, talking to this girl, Ko got a weird sensation. It was like...was he being watched? He couldn't rightly check at the moment, since that would be weird, but something felt a little weird. He'd have to check later, when he got the chance.

His jokes and comments seemed to have been well met, as the girl played along with the humor. She imitated their teacher in a silly and goofy fashion, which was perfectly fine with Ko. He laughed all the same, and he could tell very quickly that the two of them were getting along rather well. She mentioned something about criminal delinquency, which almost served to illicit a reaction out of the young boy—the keyword, though, is almost. It's not as if Ko didn't know that she would get into trouble from time to time. He'd heard about these sorts of antics before, as the Academy wasn't really that big of a place. Rumors spread, and children talk no matter where you go. It didn't really bother Ko, and he merely shrugged it off as her having a gruffer personality. In some ways, that might even serve her better than blind obedience. "Heh, at least you have a bit more fun than the other students. It's a little boring just doing work all day, don't you think?"

The playful banter continued, as she derided the young boy on his dislike of the new nickname. She teased him some more about it, and even managed to give him a secondary nickname. "Now it's Snowy? For crying out loud, pick one! I can't have two nicknames, that's just confusing!" His grin kept growing bigger and bigger. He was having fun with this girl, so much so that he'd almost forgotten they were in a library. He noticed a few of the dirty looks people around them were giving them, and realized quite quickly that he'd been a tad bit loud just now. He hushed his voice down a bit, feeling more and more like a delinquent himself. Ko really needed to get out more. "Get a load of all of these stiffs, huh?"

It was then that the subject of families came around. She had asked if he belonged to any sort of clan, perhaps wondering if he came from a line of shinobi. The answer, though, wasn't quite glamorous. "No, I'm not part of any clan. My mom takes care of the house, and my dad is a merchant. He sells all sort of odd knickknacks and curiosities. I think his dad's dad wasn't from around here though, so who knows?" That was it. He was just a simple kid, who wanted to one day be a shinobi. The first in his family. She went on to introduce herself as a member of the Wakahisa, a local Yakuza clan. They weren't unheard of, though it's not like they owned the town. It seemed to be the general rule that if you don't mess with them, then they wouldn't mess with you. All in all, nothing too serious happened, though with every norm there's bound to be a few outliers. Every now and again you'd hear about some guy who didn't make his payments early enough, or that they'd just said the wrong thing at the wrong time. Tragic. That's life for you though. "Yazuka, huh? That's pretty cool. What's it like? Or is it one of things where if you tell me you'll have to...you know..." At this, he brought his thumb up to his neck, and slid it across his throat. At the same time, he gave this over-exaggerated act of his tongue sticking out, his eyes lulling back, and his movement growing still. He quickly went back to normal, that joking grin still on his face. "Come on, you can tell me. It can't be that bad."

It's funny, the kinds of things you see in a bar. You see some things that are rather good, and some things that are rather bad. Roaring and jovial bouts of song, and horridly drunken and disruptive patrons causing a scene. Two guesses as to which one was the case tonight. Ko looked up over his journal and drink to see the man who, when he'd walked in, seemed rather benign. It seemed, though, that wasn't to be the case. His drinking had become a bit of a problem, to the point where he was beginning to frighten several other patrons around the bar. The man had caused enough trouble for one night, it would seem. He was being kicked out by the bartender, despite some rather harsh resistance by the man. Ko had been curious about the man before, but then he heard the bartender mention "ninja folk". That, in particular, was of interest to the snowy haired boy. This man must be a chunin, or possibly even a jonin. What was he doing getting wasted at a bar like this? And what was with this aura about him...this chilling, heavy aura...

The man left, without a word. He stumbled out, barely able to resist the pull of gravity towards the ground. The door swung open, and he disappeared into the night—there was no trace of him left. Though he had left, Ko's curiosity still lingered. The boy enjoyed investigating these sorts of things, knowing the who and the why. As he sat there and thought, though, there was a development. Three men, who'd been sitting quietly at their table for a long while, suddenly got up the moment that man left the bar. That was...rather convenient timing, don't you think? The three disappeared as well, and finally Ko's curiosity won. He slammed shut his book, left the milk, and walked back out into the biting cold.

He stayed low, in the shadows, and tailed these men. they walked around a bunch, eventually coming upon the drunkard laying in the trash. These three...what the heck? What were they on about? It was very interesting, but right now...well, it would seem that the man was in a spot of trouble. Ko saw the blades being brandished. He had a choice to make: did he save this man? The young boy smiled to himself. What kind of question was that? He appeared behind the men, still hidden from them. He pointed his index finger out with his thumb up, like a gun, and put his finger up to the man's back. Ko's voice was terse, but calm. "You gentlemen will have to leave. I'm afraid the 'old man' will have to wait. Speaking of, who is he?" Was this a game to him? Perhaps.

"...zzz....zz—huh, wha-?" Ko was awake. Totally, completely, awake. He hadn't just fallen asleep in class. That wasn't like him at all. No, Ko was obviously a respectful, responsible, devoted listener. He always paid attention in class, even when they were really long, contained a lot of facts that he wasn't always super interested in, had way too much of a "lecture" aspect to it, and was overall just boring. Ko wiped away the little bit of spittle that had accumulated at the corner of his mouth, rubbed his weary eyes, and stretched his limbs. He heard the teacher saying that they would be winding down for the day, and that that was all the time they had. "Thank Raiden..." Ko mumbled the words under his breath, not loud enough for anyone but his own conscious to hear. Normally the child enjoyed his classes very much. This class, though, was something else. There was something about the way the teacher lectured on, and on, and...

"...zzz....zz—ah, what?" Whoops, the young boy almost fell asleep there again. He had to get up, get some blood flowing into his system, or else he'd never be able to fully get himself awake after this class. Maybe he needed a nap? Or maybe a training session to wake himself up? Either way, it was plainly obvious that his attention was spent here. He was done. It was time to get up out of his seat, bow to the teacher for the most wonderful, interesting, and riveting class lessons he'd ever had. Then, he'd go see what he could do to make the day less boring. Ko didn't want to wait around in a class like that when there were other things he could be learning about. Maybe he'd head to the library, to make up for the lost time.

The winds were blowing quite a lot today. The trees swayed and bent, but never did they snap or topple. The forest was strong and unyielding, resolute in its placement. The young boy stood upon one of the branches that climbed high up into the canopy, surveying the land below him. He had a small book in one hand, and a little snack in the other. The sign he'd read the other day said that there was to be a class meeting today in these woods, though it had very specific instructions. One of those instructions was that he shouldn't eat anything—forget that. The sign made it sound like they'd be doing a lot of exercise, and because of that they wouldn't want to eat. Ko had a strong stomach, so he figured a light breakfast wouldn't be so bad. Still, he didn't want to be seen eating it in front of his sensei for today, so he had hung back a little bit in order to finish it. The book was just there for a little entertainment.

Finishing off the last few bites, Ko gathered himself before heading off again. The winds told him which way he needed to go in order to reach the center, and he altered his course slightly so that he'd reach there properly. His gray eyes scanned the branches in front of him. His snow white hair flapped in the breeze. His beige jacket kept him warm, while his red scarf trailed behind him slightly. His heavy boots made distinctive thudding noises every time he landed on a branch, and his black pants kept his legs warm from the cold outside. At his side was a small gourd hanging from his waist, the lid fastened in place by a small braided rope and it's contents unknown to those who gazed upon it. His face was placid and calm, analyzing things and observing with a keen interest. Nothing escaped Ko's interest.

When he'd determined that he was right above the area where they were supposed to be, Ko stopped and looked down. Seems that he wasn't the first to arrive, no doubt because of his snack break. Ko allowed himself to slip down off the branches above, falling down the thirty or forty feet down to the forest floor. He didn't land hard, though. It would have taken a special eye to see it, but Ko had utilized a shinobi technique or two on his descent down. Using one hand, casting half the necessary seals for a Doton Element technique, the earth beneath him softened into a sandy cushion. Using the other hand, forming the other half of the seal needed to perform Fuuton Element techniques, a small but almost unnoticeable gale of wind blew up from above and slowed the young boy's descent. The result of the two techniques, having been used together in harmony, allowed Ko to land with naught but a little less chakra. He'd recover it in no time, though. Looking towards the other boy who'd managed to get here before him, Ko flashed him a smile and offered a greeting. "Good morning, I assume I'm in the right place? Tsuyoshi Junko is supposed to be teaching this class, yes? I'm Kotsuko, by the way. Nice to meet you."

Not waiting long for the other boy to respond, Ko began to move towards the first of two points of interest of his. He couldn't help it, he just had an inquisitive mind. The focus of his interest, this time, was the oddly shaped kunai that had been stuck into the ground. "Hello, what do we have here?" Ko talked to himself. He used it to help him organize his thoughts. He leaned down towards the kunai, and pulled it out of the ground with one hand. He turned it over in his hands, admiring the shape and the craftsmanship of it. There was an inscription on the handle. "Quicksilver?" What did that mean? The kunai must have belonged to the teacher of this class. Ko didn't have time to look up this man before heading to the class, so he didn't have any information on him. He brought out a different book than he'd had a few minutes ago—this one was a small leather bound book, with lots of indexes, folds, and creases in it—and began to write some notes down. No doubt he was chronicling whatever information he was able to get. What a bookworm. His second point of interest was the fairly large tent that had been set up near the outskirts of the clearing. Was that the teacher's tent? Ko cocked his head to one side, wondering if he should approach it. The other student seemed to have been steering clear of it. He wondered...

Curiosity got the better of him. Ko had to check it out. The young boy approached the tent, curious to see what one could possibly have inside such a large thing. Having reached the entrance to the tent, Ko realized that the thing was open. Odd. He glanced around him, seeing if anyone—besides the other student—was watching him. Seeing no one, Ko decided to let his curiosity get the better of him. He crouched down and stuck his head inside the tent, wondering what he'd see. What he didn't expect, though, was to see a woman with nothing but a blanket covering her. Now that was sexy. Ko's face began to turn bright red, having not expected such a wonderful sight waiting for him behind the tent flaps. He wanted to stay there, gazing upon her for as long as he could. He didn't even realize there was anyone else in the tent with her...

Before the young boy could get too far ahead of himself, the woman called out at him. Skidding to a halt, Ko realized that what she was saying could very well be true. If what laid ahead was a purified place, he most certainly couldn't enter with the clothes he had on now. Despite all the reading he did, Ko had much to learn. Turning around, Ko was met with the site of the woman completely naked—save for her arm covering her breasts—facing towards him without a care in the world. She might have been used to this, but Ko certainly was not. His face quickly turning red, he averted his gaze out of respect; though, she would see his eyes wander back every so often as curiosity got the better of him. "U-Uh, yes m-ma'am." At the end of the day, Ko was still just a kid. This was the first time he'd ever seen a woman even halfway disrobed, so it was understandable that he was as nervous as he was. When she told him to ""make it quick", though, he realized that he'd have to change right there as well. Swallowing his fear, Ko disrobed himself as well. He made care not to look her in the eyes, though he made no promises about looking elsewhere out of the corner of his eyes. Pulling on his pale green robes, the young boy followed suit with the woman and folded his clothes up. Placing them next to hers, his face was still as red as a tomato. It contrasted well with his green robes.

Now ready to follow the man, Ko made his way towards the descending stairs. It didn't take long for them to bump into him, though, as it seemed he was stopping at places to pray. Among the things he prayed to were sculptures and statues, each depicting either a man, an animal, or what appeared to be a lightning wielding figure. Ko recognized the last one as Raiden, the lightning god who ruled over these lands. The other figures he didn't know as readily, but he assumed they held similar importance to Kumogakure's resident protector. Ko wasn't quite sure, but the statues seemed to tell a story. He wasn't very religious, but if he were he might have been able to pick up on it more. As it was, he was only vaguely aware that one existed—the actual tale was lost on him. The mood, though, was calming and relaxing. As they descended further, Ko could feel his body becoming more and more rejuvenated, as if the holiness of the area was affecting him directly. He became distinctly aware of an aroma that was both subtle and overt, filling his nostrils with the sweet scent of honey. It wasn't until they reached the bottom of the stairs, though, that Ko could truly appreciate this place's beauty.

At the bottom level, the tattooed man held his hand out in front of them, inviting them to look open the beauty of this place. Jade lined the walls and the floor, eloquent figures carved into it's surface. A thick mist obscured most of the chamber, but Ko could make out stairs leading down towards the various pools and springs on either side of the pathway. The boy looked out in awe as the man handed him a stone tablet that appeared to be a menu of sorts. Ko looked it over, still in disbelief at how beautiful this place was, as he listened to the man explain everything. When he warned them about the northernmost pool, though, Ko became very curious. Peering over towards it, he could see the faint light of discharged energy. Lightning, perhaps? Maybe that was Raiden himself, joining them for a nice relaxing bath? Ko pushed his questions aside for the moment, and instead focused on the man who'd treated them so well. He turned and bowed to the great tattooed giant, honoring his kindness. "Thank you very much. Your hospitality is immense, and your kindness even more so." With that, Ko smiled at Nanami as well. He headed into the room, eager to see what wonders this room held. Hopefully she would follow along with him.

He headed over towards the springs that flash fried the fish, choosing a fish that was a brilliant blue. The waters were so warm and soothing, they almost felt medicinal. He settled down into place before he bit into his food, it's savory taste making his entire mouth salivate. It was cooked to perfection, and warmed his whole body on the way down his throat. If there was a heaven, Ko imagined this is what it would be like. Taking a sip of the green tea he'd picked up as well, he cleared his throat of the fried fish. He looked to see where the woman was—hopefully she was close by. If she was not, he would get up and move over towards her so that he could speak with her. "Hey, what do you think he meant about the northernmost pool? I'm not going to lie, I'm really curious..." Even though the guy said they shouldn't go there, Ko really wanted to know what was over there. The real question, though, was whether Nanami was just as curious as he was.

You would only be earning ¥1,250 per week if you were D-rank, but currently you are still E, which is ¥750. That's also the reason why your stats are currently capped at 50. You can request a rank up Here.

I'll hold off approving this in case you want to rank up before you do your training, that way you won't lose out on any Training Points (though if you decide not to they will go directly to ASP instead, so it's not really losing them either way).

The antithesis of fun is fear. The masked man, Sukejuro, wasted no time in answering their sarcastic questions. However, his manner of speaking quickly went from sweet to sadistic in a quick time. Ko's smirk was quickly wiped off, as he realized that this man was being serious. "The wailing of future victims" and "the cause which put them to eternal rest" were not pleasant phrases to hear directed towards you. Ko had thought this guy was a tad bit off his rocker before, but he was quickly realizing that it was more than that. There was something, at a very fundamental level, wrong with this man. Something seemed to not click in his mind, like the way he seemed to circumvent Ko's words about him being creepy. He simply didn't understand it. This was a man who thought it was completely normal and ordinary to write dossiers of village members with his own blood, as if some sort of masochistic surveillance of the people around him was in any way acceptable behavior to the other members of the village. Ko knew then that Sukejuro was a man he didn't want to cross, nor get on his bad side. This man was creepy, whether he understood what that meant or not.

Ko needed to steer this situation around. As the masked man placed his clawed hands on his and Chiyoko's heads, Ko felt a shiver run down his neck. This man, plain and simple, made Ko uncomfortable. Choosing his words with care, Ko attempted to fix the situation. "I'm glad that you're so concerned with us growing up correctly, Sukejuro. That's very nice of you." He was done calling the man creepy. Even if it was true, it would just go completely over the man's head. It might be better to play the whole thing off as if this whole exchange was no big deal. Ko flashed the girl a looked that basically screamed "let's get the heck out of here." Ko needed to think of a diplomatic way of getting himself out of this, though. Moving away from under Sukejuro's hand, Ko stood himself up. "Well then, this was fun. Sukejuro, thanks for the...erm...pep talk. Chiyoko, we should hang out again. You know where to find me. I'm going to go now..." Ko was bummed at how things had gone, but he was sure he'd see Chiyoko again sometime. She seemed like she would be a really great friend, and Ko was glad to have met her. Hopefully next time they wouldn't get stalked or spied on.

+25 TP to Ninjutsu. +25 TP to Stamina. Collecting ¥2500.

Also waiting for yen to be added from last week, and for the stats to be officially approved. I added them in this week, simply to keep track better of my current progress. Let me know if there are any issues with that.

Hayato never flinched. He knew Tetsuya too well, knew what kind of man he was. It was precisely why he'd left. Hayato could be ruthless, sure, but the Head of the Sasaki was a whole new level of masochistic and sadistic. The way he cut himself to distract himself was evidence enough of that. Hayato never wanted that life, and he was damn well not going back to it now. Hayato had been doing a well enough job of keeping himself calm, despite his firm words—his eyes went wide and his face went livid, though, when the bleeding man mentioned Ko. He tried to keep him out of the house, but Tetsuya had always been the stronger of the two. "Don't you dare touch him! I swear to god, if you so much as look at him!" The man was inside their house, wandering about. He was spouting things about family, the name Sasaki being said. Ko didn't understand, that was his name. He didn't know this man. Did he?

Thee bleeding man's words were odd. The young boy, still hiding at the top of the stairs, still didn't understand exactly what the man wanted. What kind of responsibilities was he talking about? His father was following the man, trying to stay in front of him with questionable success. "No Tetsuya! I told you before, I'm done with the Sasaki. I'm done with that life. I'm done questioning whether what I'm doing is for the good of the clan or not. I'm done!" Ko was so confused. What was his father talking about? "When I left, I told you that I would never be returning. I don't know if you thought that was a joke or not, but I was serious. I will not raise my family in that trash heap you call home!" Hayato knew he was crossing a lot of lines. He didn't care. He had to make a stand now, or else he might never rid himself of this specter following him around everywhere. He would nip this in the butt now. He just had to get Tetsuya out of the door befor-

A small avalanche of books fell down the stairs. Hayato let out an exasperated sigh as he closed his eyes. He really hadn't wanted that to happen. Ko had slipped, accidentally knocking the piles of books down the stairs. The bleeding man was sure to notice his presence now. The silver haired boy slowly came down the stairs—since he'd already been exposed, he should just accept it. He had his hand by the small gourd at his side, ready to unseal the black sand contained within. His silver eyes were focused on Tetsuya, his enemy. "Why are you threatening my father?" "Ko, go back upstairs. Lock your door and-" "I want to know what's going on. Who is this man?" His father didn't know what to do. He couldn't quite speak, choked up and unable to get any words out. Ko wanted answers, and he had the feeling that his parents weren't going to give them to him. That meant the only one here who might tell him was this man. Ko didn't trust him, but he knew what Ko wanted to know. "You said 'our' name is Sasaki. Explain."
