Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The first and foremost tool in any shinobi's arsenal, and even more essential to Taijutsu specialists. Ninja are trained from a young age in the art of hand-to-hand combat so challenging any of them to a fist fight is a bad idea in most cases, this goes double for the Gotō. Instructed in the Cruel Hand style of Taijutsu, a fiercely guarded hiden technique of his clan, Daiji is his opponent's worst nightmare in close quarters. Utilizing swift punches, elbows, forearm strikes, chops, and gouges he is able to brutalize and utterly pick apart a target that is within his reach. Combining his already fierce Taijutsu with the Cruel Hand and his kekkei genkai's ability to infuse his own chakra into his opponent's body to cause internal trauma, and anyone who takes a direct attack from him is guaranteed to have a bad time. So much so that he is even capable of dealing immense internal damage with a single flick of his finger.

Or 'Ruthless Hands'. For when Daiji needs more raw destructive power and his Cruel Hand style just isn't cutting it. Utilizing some precise chakra control, he shrouds his extremities in extremely dense chakra, weighting them down slightly but drastically increasing his attack potency. All the added mass means that his finesse takes a hit but this weapon of his is more for when agility and precision simply aren't cutting it. Able to perform Taijutsu that normally requires some sort of sharp piercing weapon like a spear or suntetsu, he is able to stab through solid stone and even metal with his chakra-enhanced hands. Naturally this spells disaster for anyone if he connects with their body.

Ninja Tools

An assortment of basic ninja weaponry that a shinobi almost always keeps on them. Kunai knives are stored in a thigh holster that Daiji always wears on his right leg no matter the occasion, while shuriken rest in a pouch that he keeps fastened on his hip behind his waist. Ninja Wire connects a number of these tools which he is able to use in conjunction with shurikenjutsu to ensnare and trip up his opponents. For larger tools such as Fūma Shuriken he carries several small scrolls on his person that he is capable of using to summon them forth at a moment's notice.

The art of using both hands, something Daiji's hedonistic side can appreciate. But that's a topic for a different time! Of course we're talking about being able to effectively battle with either hand during combat. Admittedly he's not perfect, you won't see him signing his name with his left hand or eating with it by choice, but when it comes to fighting he is able to use either appendage with near-equal efficiency. It does help that he only uses his own body as a weapon when he fights, no unwieldy scythes or katanas or anything like that to try and re-learn. Balance is important and when it comes to swapping hands he's about as balanced as one can get. (WC: 119)

Called Shot
In depth learning of human anatomy is most often left up to doctors. Well... doctors and professions that polite society might look down upon, which actually explains why Daiji knows more than the average shinobi when it comes to this exact topic. No he isn't a 'gentleman of the evening' (though he fully supports and respects those who choose that line of work-- braver than any ninja honestly) it's just that his clan were once infamous assassins. Though their infamy has faded in recent decades, the Kōga's superior Taijutsu alongside their unique kekkei genkai made a fair number of them experts in the craft of murder. That and their general amorality allowed them to flourish in more turbulent times... but of course that was all a long time ago. Still, even to this day they pass on their teachings and train the new generation to be effective shinobi. Also, don't ever give a Kōga child a sharp object. (WC: 158)

Duelist
A fair fight you say? The Kōga of old would have scoffed at the prospect. Nowadays they are much more amenable to such things. Though every clan member are still instructed in the assassination techniques of old, they're also taught how to hold their own in extended one-on-one battles. Now that doesn't mean that they're above employing a dirty trick here or there, but they can stand toe to toe with any shinobi near their level. Pressure points, vital areas, instant-kill spots, all targets that Daiji has had drilled into his head as a youth growing up within his clan. A duel, however melodramatic it may be, is something he's prepared for. (WC: 112)

Initiative
Ever head that saying about the early bird and the worm? Well in Daiji's family it was more like "The faster ninja gets the kill". Dark, I know, but at least in their modern iteration these things are taught as more of a way to prepare their children for the worst. Making sure he understood that the first to act was much more likely to win was a priority of his parents. And the same can be said for all of the Kōga youths. They may no longer be shadowy killers-for-hire (for the most part) but the teachings and lessons they learned from those tumultous times are still passed down within the clan to this very day. (WC: 117)

Insight
Half-instinct, half-extraordinary perception, the Kōga are a cut above the rest when it comes to deduction, planning, and detecting danger. Despite the prospect of awakening their Dōjutsu being extremely rare among their clan, the fact that all members of the clan are instructed in old assassination arts makes it so that most are very perceptive and capable of spotting a threat quicker than others. Daiji especially rarely misses a thing, and his outwardly aloof and slacker nature is the perfect mask to hide his gaze that is always scanning, always watching. Ambushing a shinobi is hard enough, ambushing a Kōga? Good luck. (WC: 102)

Jutsu Expansion
Chakra control is an important foundational skill to any shinobi. While he certainly doesn't consider himself a master by any means, Daiji has learned to manipulate his own energy into making his normal jutsu that much more potent. By pouring in a larger portion of chakra as he molds a jutsu, he is able to increase the size, range, and attack power of just about any one of his techniques. Most commonly utilized with his Taijutsu in order to make his strikes pack more of a punch, ultimately this gives him more flexibility in a fight. Essential for any ninja hoping to survive. (WC: 103)

Jutsu Mastery
A ninja's chakra reserves are set in stone from the day they were born. Without the aid of some of the darker practices of the shinobi world like genetic manipulation or human experimentation, it's nearly impossible to increase the maximum limit of one's chakra. So a shinobi has to learn how to make due with less. Daiji has an average amount of chakra but over the years has learned to maximize his efficiency in using it. He has yet to perfect this method but even with this work in progress he has managed to reduce the amount of chakra required to perform his techniques, even some of his most powerful. If only he had the ability to see the flow of chakra like his father... maybe in another lifetime. (WC: 129)

Stalker
Stealth. Any shinobi's best friend. Except for those ones who run around in bright-colored jumpsuits and shout catchphrases, so odd. The Kōga make sure that all of their ranks know how to use shadows to their advantage, and to always be conscious of their surroundings and the presence they give off. One misstep can be the difference between life and death so learning how to trail a mark properly is one of the first things children within the clan are taught. Needless to say? They are all experts at hide-and-seek. And Kami help any target who ends up within their sights. More often than not, they can see you well before you can see them. (WC: 115)

Strategist
Combat prowess is only half the battle when it comes to well... battle. The other half is being prepared. Strategy is something that Daiji has always excelled in, even though you might not know it upon first meeting him. Though having an outward demeanor that is one of an aloof slacker oddball sensei is exactly the kind of front someone would put up if they were an expert strategist, no? Being underestimated in the shinobi world is almost always a good thing, and aside from that he makes sure to never go into a fight without a plan. An analytical mind combined with a knack for deduction makes him a fearsome foe to be reckoned with. Now if only he could figure out how to show up to class on time... (WC: 131)

Heavy Handed

Power. Something that the Hyūga's Gentle Fist lacked. Sure it could disrupt chakra flow and lead to some pretty serious disabling effects with their graceful pokes and prods, but power was something it lacked. And for no good reason either. The Gotō in all their criminal roughness were capable of taking such an ingenious concept and expanding upon it. Instead of limp finger taps and palm thrusts they replaced their attacks with fists, knees, elbows, and claw strikes. Still with enough finesse as to disrupt their target's Chakra Pathway System with their own tight chakra control, but also with brute force and ferocity enough to leave an opponent reeling just from the physical impact, let alone the side effects. All in all it was a more effective means of fighting. Less elegant sure, but that was luxury not afforded to killers. (WC: 141)

Human Anatomy
Anatomy is something Daiji can surely appreciate, both inside and outside of combat. In the case of battle it pays to know where to strike and the function of all vital organs. How to disable a target without harming them. Where to aim when you're intending to kill. Even how best to cause the most amount of pain possible with the least amount of effort, though that one wasn't exactly a favorite of his. Good to know in a pinch but only truly appreciated by the sadistic. Understanding the human body is essential to any assassin. And his family made sure that all who were raised within their walls knew this fundamental fact. (WC: 113)

Bloody Mess
An assassin should never be afraid of blood. The same could be said for all shinboi in general but goes doubly for any who ply the trade of murder-for-hire. It was as natural as the rain. Even with their particular brand of Taijutsu inflicting mostly internal bleeding, the sight of the essence of life was no surprise to any of the Gotō. And especially with the vigor and fierceness in which their attacks were delivered a run-in with one of their ranks was almost guaranteed to end in bloodshed. Knowing how to bleed an enemy is vital information. Knowing how to do it well? Was priceless. (WC: 106)

Deflection
It's hard to hit a Gotō. Not for any lack of trying mind you but because of their dedication to the 'hiden' martial arts style which they practice. The Cruel Hand is all about inflicting the maximum amount of damage as quickly and mercilessly as possible to a target, but it also has a secondary effect that is lesser known. Because of the aggressive nature of the style, users must be flexible and able to shift their body weight on a dime, making them especially slippery opponents in a one-on-one fight. Combine this with their 'all seeing eyes' and the odds of nailing them down become slimmer with each passing second. (WC: 111)

- Put this in my training thread but; I seem to have misplaced my ASP count somewhere, thought I had attached it to my previous profile but I don't see it on either Mako or Ota Yasu's. Is there any way of tracking that down? Maybe in a past training thread? The last character I remember training on for sure would have been Mako in Missing Training. The last ASP purchase I made was 'Discovery of a Contract of Your Choice' for Mako. My current ASP may very well be 0 but I just wanted to make sure. Either way thanks!
