Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Name:
Kagami Mirō

Age:
19

Gender:
Female

Rank:
S
Physical appearance: Mirō Kagami, a small child from birth she only stands at a height of 54 inches and 80 lbs. Her petite body, marked with lacerations across her back, chest, legs and feet. However, the most prominent marking would be the mark across her eye and down her cheek. Midnight black hairs runs down to the middle of her back, laying flat without much volume. Eyes of pure gold are her most obvious feature once you look past the wide scar down her eye and cheek. Discolored by the scars her skin it remains to be blueish-white yet soft before reaching scars. For being a 10-year-old, she has slightly noticeable muscle definition to her arms and legs. Feet and hands calloused from walking and working in unruly conditions are exposed to the elements while wearing nothing but tattered cloth to cover her torso and a softer piece of cloth used to make makeshift underwear for her.

Personality: Stand offish, due to her history of slavery. Because of this she has a quiet, somber demeanor that affects her ability to be outspoken. However, this doesn’t mean she is a walking empty husk that is no use to anyone. Being a slave meant she has had to endure harsh conditions, forcing her mental stability to increase if she wanted to survive another day. Unable to clearly identify how smart she is, she is able to count and write and read because of her father, yet there were many instances of her knowledge being tested during the 5 years she was a slave. During those years she only encountered a select amount of emotions. Greif, hate, anger and vengeance. These emotions molded her personality over time to become who she is today. A human whose inner workings are tangled with irrational deadly thoughts for being so young.

History: Born into a small clan, Miro’s past wasn’t as euphoric and memorable as some would put. Her Mother was a caring woman who fell in love with Miro at the very first sight of her. Her father, a travelling merchant with a liking for gambling. Travelling from town to town to sell his miscellaneous artifacts he picks up on his travels. Pawning them for quick coin or selling them for outrageous prices he was a known con whose dark dealings quickly caught up with him. Selling false hopes and promises to unwelcome folk he later found himself back into a corner with his wife and five-year-old child. Shadowy figures circled the small hovel, a figure who stood out amongst them offered a small request from the Kagami family. Their lives, or the child’s. A cruel deal that only ended with the swift murder of a loving mother and a father trying to better themselves for their child. In the end, they did what they could. Giving up their own lives so their child could see another day. Kidnapping the child and selling her to slavery.

The duration of these five horrific years were the hardest years of the child’s life. Whipped into compliance without having any time to mourn for the murder of her parents she was forced to mine ore within a rickety mine. Thrown into the mine with many other slaves there was one person that took a liking into the small child. She went by the name of Riko, a girl who’s aged was unknown but looked as old as sixteen. Within the mine Riko would look out for Miro, watching her back and often taking punishments in place of Miro. Seeing this only made Miro focus harder and try to remain as obedient as she could to reduce her punishments and survive for both Rikos life and hers. Learning more about Riko, Miro found out that her father was a skillful shinobi in taijutsu. He then passed down some training methods before going MIA one fateful day. During down time, Riko would attempt to show Miro a few tricks and tips to awaken any minute amounts of chakra within her. Showing some positive results Miro slowly awakened the ability to use chakra. “A simple trick to mine quicker. That’s why I finish so quickly…” playfully nudging Miro. Riko was the bright light within the abysmal darkness of the mines. However, she wasn’t as safe from natural causes. Rending sick over time Riko passed away within the mines, clutching Miro’s hand as she died within the night. Passing on the rest of her coin she earned slaving in the mine to Miro. Enough to buy her freedom, something Riko herself, knew at the beginning she would need to escape such a place. After she passed, a few days went by and Miro was finally able to be free from the mines within these cold mountain ranges. Purchasing her freedom by the age of nine, she was able to walk away from the mines. Carrying the memories of flagellations, Riko, her time spent and her parents within the ever-growing mind of a nine-year-old. However, she was never completely free.

Not even two days of walking away from the mine shaft, a strange member of what they called CPSS approached her, claiming a better life than being a wanderer within this mountain ranges. Unable to dictate where she would end up if she refused, she willingly went with the stranger. Beginning a new life as what they call an ‘academy student’ to parts unknown to her.

Bloodline/CA: None

Appearance:
Gisei stands tall and proud at a whopping 6’6”. With brown hair swept back with his hands a rebellious lock would always find its way in front of his soft brown eyes. His facial construction was mild if put kindly. Gisei could always been found wearing a long elegant white haori on top of a mostly black kimono. Keeping his appearance rather scholarly, helping him with blending in better with his colleagues. Glasses would periodically adorn his face when reading or viewing something important. When speaking Gisei has the voice of an alluring angel, most people succumbing to his soft booming voice making them likely to open up to him.

Personality:
At first glance and appearance Gisei has the aura of friendliness and respect for others around him. Knowing when to be of assistance and never refusing to help others who are in need of him. However, only he knows his true intentions. His warm glow was merely a facade, darker intent was what drove him to his future goals and the people around him were seen as tools to better assist him with mundane work. An authoritarian behind a smiling mask, gaining the trust of others so that any accusations that would fall into his lap would be easily dismissed.

History:
Gisei’s life before becoming a shinobi was a quaint one. He had kind family that took care of him dearly before the village was overcome with a devastating plague. The plague ran rapidly through many of the citizens within the village, eventually his parents contracted the disease. His mother and father, fully devoted to the church that roamed around pleaded to God for forgiveness and mercy. Alas, they were taken from Gisei who by an astounding miracle lived through those trying times. Heart broken Gisei turned to the church for answers as to why the plague had come through their village. “Your faith in the lord's grace is weak. That’s why god took your family.” Hissed one of the priests within the church. Those words pierced through his heart, molding him into who he is today.
From that point on, Gisei took it upon himself to align his faith closer to God himself. Most of his youth was spent inside the church's massive library that unveiled untold secrets to him through piecework. At the age of eleven Gisei was then sent from Moon country north towards Lightning territory. Arriving by boat a woman shrouded in mystery peeked through her hood. Holding out her hand towards Gisei to lead him to the new path of the shinobi. One of the head bishops had sent Gisei on an life-long quest. “Strengthen your bond with the lord, only then will you be able to restore the blessings needed to atone for your sins.” Words he was destined to live by as they were whipped into his body. Taking her hand he began his new life, working diligently to find answers to God's words.
His time spent at the academy was a secluded one. Many nights were spent within the academy library until he had eventually become a medical ninja. Through his research he had stumbled upon a novel titled: “Marks of the Great One.” Which with great detail described how those who possess Dōjutsu are hand picked by God himself. Jealousy flooded through Gisei’s veins while nails dug into the cover of the novel. Turmoil stirred within his heart, slamming down the book pearly white teeth clenched tightly. “How come… I was destined with torment and misfortune while others regale within the lord's arms… THAT SHOULD BE ME!” A roar bellowed out from the depths of his heart. Smashing his desk with all his might, he stood motionless. “That.. will be me.” From then on Gisei knew his true goal. Through the ranks of the medical branch he was bestowed the rank of ‘Harvester’. With precision and sleight of hand Gisei was liable to remove and return organs from those who were threats to the village. However through this process Gisei would take home a personal trophy. The eyesight of those who possessed Dōjutsu, though few and far between. There had been many threats he had engaged that only possessed one eye. Perverted moans escaped his lips whenever that sharp scalpel made the first incision into the socket. The eyes had to be extracted while the victim was alive, or else they would decay rather quickly. Collecting only a small amount of trophies he yearned for a certain type of Dōjutsu. His practices were kept under wraps to avoid unwanted attention and to prevent anyone else from achieving his goal before him.

Appearance: Jin looms over most natives around the surrounding countries. Her towering height is a result of strong genes within the Kyuga clan. Pale skin tells a historic tale of when she was born. Locked away for years without sunlight her correct pigment never developed correctly. Such neglect causes her skin to irritate in sunlight. When picking out attire, a more gothic style approach fit nicely to her hermit ways. A form fitting blouse underneath a black overcoat pairs well with long black dress pants and armored silver encrusted boots. In her prime her eyes twinkled like bright blue oceans but time and trauma have deduced to them dark blue hues that tell an otherworldly tale.

Personality: Humble yet cunning, Jin's ability to communicate freely amongst others despite her past gives her the advantage of social skills and storytelling. A skill needed for a successful merchant and trader Jin wouldn’t consider herself the life of the party. Remaining in the background not only is her favorite spot but it something she’d prefer. Unlike most shinobi who sever their ties with their emotions Jin proved it was unnecessary. Reaching this age didn’t come easy. As a hard worker in her craft Jin’s intellect and quick thinking has made her well off financially and strong physically. Thus when conducting tests or trading with ne’er-do-wells her ominous presence never stops her from becoming a harsh and cruel trader and teacher. If disrespected Jin’s quick to remind others that her rank of nin was achieved at a young age.

History: The way of life for a Kayuga is one of overwhelming trials and bloodshed. Born with the ability to grow additional bones the Kaguya clan were bloodthirsty warriors. Proving their strength against each other and opposing clans it was no wonder only the strongest got to live a long life. In Jin's case, she was weak compared to her brothers. For being weak her parents didn’t favor her. Locking her away within their home until the age of eleven. Eventually she earned her freedom in a deathmatch against another member's child in the clan, by accident.

Fleeing her village from further bloodshed, Jin exiled herself into the mountains of Kumogakure. Hitching a ride on a merchant's wagon her knowledge for trade grew in some manner. Eventually Jin arrived into the heart of Cloud. Finding herself a place among the ranks of other children in a spot for genin. Days in the academy strengthened her core abilities allowing her to surpass her colleagues and the genin exam before the age of thirteen.

Those days in genin flew by. Taking missions that delved deep into the scums of the cronopolis. Delivering parcels and packages to various villages and towns. Hard work paid off. Chuunin rank had been bestowed onto Jin at sixteen. Ninja training strengthened her as a whole, allowing her to pursue the world in innocent curiosity. Leaving the village gates with her belongings in tow Jin set out on her own.

Venturing the world alone meant that her necessities needed to be taken care of. Within months Jin had established herself as a travelling merchant. However even life as a merchant is never safe. Ambushers, thieves and con artists alike continuously attempted to fatten their pockets. Left to their own demise for trying to best this wandering merchant Jin was always one step ahead. In the game of business Jin’s intellect, knack for traps, and bone armor were tools for survival in this world.

As years went on merchants soon began to know the name of Musojinshimokio Musoya. Gathering artifacts and vessels for scientific research and trade amongst many villages and countries. Jin would return to Kumogakure countless times. Advocating her products to any in need. People's wants still bewilder her. The need for organs and ancient relics found a higher payout than petty artifacts and furs that many were accustomed too. Jin would slowly find herself on two spectrums of how she was seen. A merchant who had the most unique wares in the land. On the other side, a woman who’s dark hues witnessed human greed at its unholiest. Which would she favor?

Appearance: A young man who stands tall-ish and proud to gaze up into the sky, looking towards the future. A non native of Kumo, his skin complexion is light and soft to the touch. Gold blonde hair is neatly slicked back while his bangs drift off the right side of his face uniformly. Ocean hues are vast like the sea itself, liable to become lost in their beauty. On the average day while not completing missions Yoshi is seen in neutral grey anbu clothing minus the dark vest. However when dressed as a civilian he prefers a loose collared shirt with black slacks and dress shoes with a brown overcoat to beat the cold breezes in Kumo streets.

Personality: Quentin is widely viewed as a persona who can make you smile and always has a warm aura around them that citizens welcome wholeheartedly. This personality changes in the line of ANBU work. A critical thinker who has used traditional science and human anatomy to create and craft ever changing lethal poisons making him reclusive and mute when it comes to reviewing work with those around him. Happy to help and courageous when in a squadron of ninja he will not let his emotions get at his core. Unless it was for the one person he truly cares about, making his heart beat quickly and becoming a loyal lover.

History: The tale starts with a young woman who was captured by a crew ship of pirates and taken by the Captain as his wench. Unfortunately the Captain rude tongue meshed well with his deplorable acts. As they sailed the woman's stomach grew and months began to pass until inevitably she gave birth alone in the belly of the ship, to an infant child with eyes that matched the waves. With a faint smile the mother blessed the child with the name of Quentin. Her one true love before her village was pillaged by the pirates. The Captain ripped the baby boy away from his mother’s arms that were too frail to put up much of a fight. “Quentin aye? A shite name for a shite child like it’s mother.” He laughed, turning his back towards the defeated new mother. The process of giving birth drained her and pushed her body to its limits, eventually dying a few hours later. The Captain thus ordered his men to throw the lifeless body off the ship and into the waters, never to be seen again.

After years of sailing the boy finally grew enough to pull his own weight around the ship. Given the duties nobody else did to him. Suds grew from the floorboards of the poop deck as calloused hands scrubbed away the dirt on the ship with a ragged sponge. This wasn’t his only responsibility. Beside the head chef, who loathed the idea of mentoring a frail blonde haired kid, he taught him how to cook and prepare fish and foods to serve the crew. After burning a meal meant for the captain the cook had the evil idea on how to punish the brat. With a loud roar he ordered Quentin to “Grab one o’ them slippery ole eels from that there bucket kid.” He raised his hand threatening him. The cook waited with delight to punish the kid by having him grab electric eels. Electricity surged through the eels bodys and touching them with care hands was a surefire way to leave a 3rd degree burn.

Quentin loomed over the bucket, looking down at their beady eyes and gaping maws with serrated teeth. A lump formed in his throat before he reached down quickly. Snatching one by the neck he held it up in the air. The eel surged with lightning but the kid didn’t flinch. He calmly brought it to the cook and threw it into the pot before him. Shocked by the stunt the cook grabbed the kids hands to notice no burns or scarring. “How’d you do that brat?” “Do what?” “Grab that there eel without burning yourself?!” The boy looked at the cook bewildered, “It just tickled.” Scratching his head underneath his askew chef hat he pondered if the kid was just bluffing. “Tah, they’re not electric then are they.” And with his bare hand he reached in to grab the eel in the pot. A bloody scream rang out from the chefs lungs as his hands were burned and jolts of electricity coursed through his body. A loud thud echoed through the kitchen, convincing Quentin that he was immune to electricity.

All the ruckus caused the crew to rush into the kitchen. The scene laid out negatively in his favor. The Cook pinning violent acts and disrespect onto Quentin. This led Quentin into the same fate his mother had been given. Without a word the captain, his father, threw him overboard in the sea.

Unable to swim the light of the sun dispersed as his body succumbed to the darkness of the ocean. His world coming to a close as the air bubbles became less frequent. Lady Luck was at his side, waking up off the coast of Lightning Country the boy's eyes blinked a few times before he realized he was alive. Covered in seaweed and clams but alive. “W-where.. Am I..?” Cracked lips parted as confusion engulfed him. “Lightning Country friend!” A loud voice broke through the pools of water in Quentin's ears, making him lurch up from the sand. “What the--! Who are you? Did you save me?!” Flooding the stranger with questions. The stranger's hands moved to the butt of the cancerstick he puffed to speak once more. A deep voice rang out, “Save you? Why would I do that? You just washed up while I was fishing here.” A well maintained bearded face looked over at him. The fisherman was massive, his arms the size of barrels. “I ain’t helpin’ no kid who surges with lightning every 10 minutes.” Stunned, Quentin looked down at his body, noticing the surges of lightning that subtly coursed around him. “Yer a weird ‘n for sure. Here eat this.” A large hand dug into an old battered rucksack searching for something special. Tossing it into the air it landed into Quentin's hands. “Mushroom. Eat up, they’re good for you. Gets your energy back.”
Quentin's stomach grumbled loud enough to the fisherman to hear and let out a bellowing laugh. Without a second thought the boy shoved the fungi into his mouth right before he grimaced at the texture and taste. “BLAGHHH!” The fisherman let out another laugh. “Yeah they’re kinda stale. But full of the good stuff.” Quentin continued to chew and swallow the remnants. “I hope that one wasn’t the poisonous type.” Quentin paused mid swallow. “Did that one have spots?” “I don’t know…? I ate the cap already.” “Well we’ll see in a few minutes! I don’t think it was. I’m pretty good at alchemy and herbal medicine.” Quentin's jaw dropped at the man's nonchalant act of drugging him… or helping… who knows! Minutes rolled by and the feeling of dread never appeared.

Time passed and so did an exchange of words between Quentin and the Fisherman. The man helped restore Quentin back to his normal refreshed state and more, since his past life barely fed him grool. Since the Fisherman rescued Quentin it was all equivalent exchange for information about where he came from. With that they slowly built a friendship. Trading chores for knowledge Quentin gained valuable experience in poison mixing and alchemy, however he never could explain the immunity to electricity. At the faintest touch Quentin would zap out the village lights and have to spend the next three days repairing the breaker. Eager to gain knowledge on the phenomenon the Fisherman hesitantly suggested visiting the village of Kumogakure. “They’ll have your answers, but once you go there, your life changes. Seen too many lot go in an’ never come back home.” A heavy sigh escaped him. Quentin placed a calloused hand on his shoulder while he sat. “You’ve changed my life, and I’ll come back. I promise.” A warm smile emerged on Quentin's lips. The fisherman chuckled, his hopes set high on Quentin’s shoulders.
At the crack of dawn Quetin said his goodbyes to the Fisherman and the residents of the tiny fishing village and began his long walk to the village gates. With ease Quentin was accepted into the Academy due to his high levels of chakra he emitted. From there he soared through lessons and genin exams. Some children called him a brainiac due to his cunning movements and knowledge of poisons but when asked all he could do was shrug. “Just goin’ with my gut.” Followed by a warm smile. Of course, before anyone could get to him the ANBU were already pushing him into their ranks. He himself felt more cut out for medical work but the mission presented to him was a deal he couldn't let up.

A mission to sink the ship of a cruel pirate captain. Further details concluded that it was his fathers… No, his rotten creator’s ship that needed to be dealt with. With more training Quentin was liable to hone his innate ability to control lightning. And one a fated night, the ocean waters were calm. Not a dark cloud in the sky that night, which made it harder for him to creep on the waters towards an anchored ship in the middle of the sea. Feet pressed against the side of the ship to walk himself up towards the captain's deck and through the window. Quentin stood at the foot of the bed, the captain in a deep slumber. A violent grin cursed his sweet lips, pulling his hand from behind his back. In hand, two squirming electric eels surged with lightning. “WAKE UP CAPTAIN THERE’S A FIRE!” Quentin screamed, the captain jolted up only to view his abandoned sun with the look of the devil in his eyes.
His arms flicked forward sending the electric eels into the captain's bewildered face only to have his eyes latched onto by the maw of one eel. Without a second hesitation the eels charged up, shocking his poor father while his eyes melted out of his head and charred his brain. A twisted laugh bellowed out from Quentin. His hands clapped together to form complex seals, dark clouds formed overhead while the wails of the captain and the stomping of foot steps continued to grow louder. But all was silenced at the crack of thunder booming, as if Raiden stood above the ship. Lightning struck the mast, causing it to ignite and spread the fires on the ropes and eventually the wood. “What’s the matter Father? Thought you killed me? Too bad huh, now be a loyal captain and go down with your ship. What’s left of ya that is.” Quentin looked back to notice the captain in a frenzy in his room. With a scoff Quentin escaped out the window he snuck in through and dashed back across the water. Stopping short of a mile out he turned back to watch the ship slowly sink into the vast abyss of the ocean.
His twisted smile faded back into neutrality. “For you, Okaasan.” He whispered towards the moon. Turning back he vanished towards Kumo. Gaining respect within the ANBU which eventually earned him his stripes to push through the ranks.
